Ranacor Vs Balrog

Post by NecronLord »

This is probably unfair in that the ranacor is a dumb critter and the balrog isn't. The Balrog doesn't have any weapons by the way.

Errrr... the Balrog MAKES weapons. In any event, the rancor is nasty, but not up to taking on the eternal fiend of evil.

Acutal Rancors are not dumb, roughly Dohplin Level Intellgence, They have a Lanaugage even if it is a little roughly and they do know how to use weapons and can wear armor
Witness the Rancors on Dathomir, Jabba's was just a runt

If the Rancor was hungry, yes...

But I'd say the Rancor loses. Come on, the Balrog is a Fiend, it doesn't play by the same laws.

You guys are all talking about a Rancor, like the one in Jabba's palace.

But NecronLord is talking about a Ranacor.

I don't know what that is, but it sounds nasty. It gets my vote.

This is a drawing that I did of what I assume it would look like:

Note the gloves. Those are coated with Nomex and asbestos, for punching the Balrog.
And you may ask yourself, 'Where does that highway go to?'

The Rancor would make the Goblins run, if only because no individual goblin wants to be eaten (so they would all run), but the Balrog is just more powerful.

the balrog if we go by the movie LOTR is one of fire and darkness, flames, the rancor however is still a simple but powerful organism. the flame-like demon wins. this is so one-sided.

Funny :D , I was talking about a Rancor. Heh, I really only posted this to see if anyone would vote for the rancor. P.s. I know the whip and whatnot is part of the balrogs' forms. It has been edited out for the purposes of prolonbging the fight [two seconds insted of one  . And do the Dathimor ones actually have a language. Thanks for that Mr Bean, now I have to read up on that.

A better more even fight would be the ROTJ Rancor verses the FOTR Cave troll. Cave troll has a large mace like club rancor just has some claws, Rancor gets the Size advantage but dang he is slow, look how small his cage is and look how long it takes for him to get to luke, while the Cave troll comes blasting into the room swinging wildly with his mace and killing friends and and wounding foes. I also wonder what it would be like to see a Rancor verses a Reek or any of the other AOTC exectution beasts.

I would suspect that a Rancor would be able to defeat the Cave Troll. That troll was just plain stupid, and it wasn't Speedy Gonzales itself. The Rancor would be able to snap its head off in a single bite. Incidentally, I thought that LotR trolls could not stand sunlight, but the Cave Troll clearly did in the tomb. I wonder what's up with that. Maybe I'm just mistaken.

I think it's pretty self-evident that the Rancor would defeat the Nexu, Acklay, or Reek. Remember that its only real competition was to be the Krayt Dragon, or a Jedi.

Hey Ossus you ever watch ROTJ closely, when the rancor bites of the Gammorean(Sp?) Gaurd he bites his own hand, it is the funniest thing I have ever seen.

Really? Cool!

That doesn't mean that a cave troll could beat the Rancor (it beat up on some very powerful critters, some of which were very quick and fast), but it is kind of funny. I'll have to watch that scene more carefully. Thanks for the blooper. I'll file that one with the stormtrooper that bumped his head in ANH.
