New gun effects

Neat
Saving Fittings

One of the biggest improvements in the fitting screen is that it can now be saved and loaded. This makes it very easy to switch between different fittings for different mission profiles. Fittings are automatically archived by ship class and race, with options for importing and exporting the fitting database. Corporation members with sufficient roles can also store corporation fittings which automatically become available to all the corporation members
This is a nice feature if you're burning trough a lot of ships in siege or something like that.

MUZZLE FLARES, woohoo!

As for PvP, it was an assault frigate with a jammer-boat, that's not exactly your average two-frigate team. It looks like it is, until you realize that you just lost lock and the AF is feeding you your own armour plates.

Some of those new Minmatar ships look great!

Do we have any idea what skills will be necessary to fly these new beauties?

So, what has became of the remains of this BoB? Has their former territory been torn apart by invaders?

This is the current map showing which alliances control which space, it is updated after every downtime. BoB members reformed under the name Kenzoku.

This is what it looked like the day before BoB was disbanded

Here is the archive of old maps.

I'd say that BoB is losing space.

Are there seriously guys that call themselves xXDEATHXx? Wow... Anyway, I'll keep a look at these maps. This should be interesting.

Apparently the map lags behind the "situation on the ground", because the influence effects take time to kick in.

There was a thread on the official forum wherein Darius Johnson (leader of the goons) posted a screenshot of the anti-BOB forces blowing up what he claims was the last Kenzoku station in Delve.

If that's the case, then it's basically over and Kenzoku are going to have to relocate.

I'm pretty sure they're still there but they pretty much aren't doing anything except getting killed. At one point we had so many bubbles on a station you couldn't SEE the station.

Yes, Legion of xXDeathXx, I believe it's Russian.

God damn it, I'm incredibly tempted to join now and just hook up with Goonswarm to take part in the wars that are bound to take place now that BoB are well and truly shattered. All that valuable space, free and easy for the pickings since people are still consolidating? Lots of trade, plenty of groups moving in? It sounds like there'll be some amazing skirmishes in the future.

You have to have been an active poster on somethingawful.co* for at least three months before they'll consider you for an invite.

This is the part where they make the obligatory joke about how you should message them for an exlusive reduction in the joining fee...

That's a sponsorship fee, as you can be sponsored in by an existing member (Who has an SA account).

Exactly why are you debating this point? The goons can't hide this one anymore, it's too famous now.

The goonswarm posts on COAD that mention the recruitment fee are clearly in jest as they're usually responding to 'pubbies' with it.

I didn't know I was debating it? I thought I was just elaborating on some details. Probably the only reason it's actually a scam at all is because it's your ass if you sponsor in a spy.

It just sounds like you're trying to downplay the scam angle, which is a 'time honored goonswarm tradition', as Mittani put it. It seems sort of important to emphasise that when somebody is asking about joining the Goonswarm, as loomer has done above - that plenty of them will take your money, help you move your assets into 0.0, then kick you out and laugh!

Or, hey, maybe I could just join up with them using my identically named Something Awful account registed a year ago!

Seriously, I wouldn't even consider joining them if I wasn't a goon myself.

Ahh, good.

Not like I've got an axe to grind or anything, I just wanted to make sure nobody got burnt.

Hell, if I had an invite I could trust, I don't think I'd turn it down. I've been a reader of the main SA site since Jeff K, and it's certainly been entertaining reading their posts on COAD.

Well, if I ever join up, I'll throw you an invite...
