Character(WIP) (56K mild warning)
It's supposed to be anime, when done. Gotta change the shirt, add a sword, and then the hardest part: making a cute head.
The gauntlets and boots are purposely oversized, in an effort to create cuteness.

Nice. There seems to be a mesh error around his knee. Got a shaded wire?

Eh, it's less of a shading error and more of a mistake I made in photoshop. Blender, the program I'm using, puts this annoying line around stuff when I render..salm wrote:Nice. There seems to be a mesh error around his knee. Got a shaded wire?
Thanks for commenting.

Have you still got a shaded wire of the basemodel? You know, like the image on the right in this image?
Clone object -> Give clone black wire frame material -> Scale the polys along normals -> Render

That's actually a pretty cool model. Did you make it?salm wrote:Have you still got a shaded wire of the basemodel? You know, like the image on the right in this image?

That's a nifty effect...

I meant of the whole model
I believe you that the mesh is allright. I just wanted to see the whole mesh because i´m allways interested in how other people place their edge loops and so on.
Are the textures the final ones? Personally i think you should either stick only to "natural" colors like the pants and the shoes or only to bright colors like the shirt and the gloves. Either make him an old school ranger and give him, for example, subtle greentones in his shirt and gloves or go the hello kitty way and give him bright orange pants and blue shoes. Sort of a managable, nicely contrasting two tone set of colors. I think the latter would be better but it entirely depends on what you´re going to use him for later on.

If you'd like, I could export it into a different format and upload it somewhere for you to download... Like This!salm wrote:I meant of the whole model

Eh, they work for me...salm wrote:Are the textures the final ones? It's not turning out as cute as I had anticipated.
I added the eyebrows in Photoshop. I still have to model some eyebrows, texture the hair, and finish texturing the sword.

Ok, what are you going to use this character for? Just practice or is it some specific character in a certain context?

I think I shall use it to make a cartoon. A comedy...salm wrote:Ok, what are you going to use this character for? Just practice or is it some specific character in a certain context?
Just need to work on the sword now.

You need more hair!!!!!
Anime characters are cute because of their hair....
P.S. If you want him to be cuter, you need a bigger head...

Head should be shaped like a bean, tiny mouth when closed, RIDICULOUSLY huge when open.
