Hmmm...I'm not sure Byzantium has a big enough stick to threaten the man in charge of UCSR's intelligence aparatus :D

We will get help from within. After all, there's Kane. He's going to regard Yuri a rival.

And we will simply threaten him to deal with him the o' Byzantine "Traitors never prosper way".

Off with his tongue and eyes, and a nice spot in a monastery.

As much as I appreciate your offer Fin, Paul has a point, you need a very big stick to intimidate Yuri. :D

Besides, there is no need for that. Yuri is loyal to the Motherland, and will remain so for the foreseeable future. As for Kane...well, those two will have to find a way to work together as friends. :P

My world tour's starting to get bogged down, so I'll just do a quick wrap-up of my business in Byzantium before moving on. Next stop, PeZookia! :)

EDIT: Actually, on second thought, it looks like the world tour will remain bogged down for at least another day.

Well, I did watch "Taken" recently, and wanted to do something with Ana for a long time now. This seemed like a perfect opportunity :)

I wonder if it's possible to get CEP that small with inertial guidance, because as far as I know, the plasma sheath around such space to ground weaponry is going to play hell with any LIDAR or radar on the missile. So I am going to assume external feedback and inertia did the trick.....

Suddenly I'm loving the fact that we have the MESS' GPS system fully up and running with spares going into orbit over the next few years. Means we've got Inertial and GPS guidance...plus terrain following soon to follow.

*grumbles about PeZook procrastinating on doing a short note on the launches of the GLOSSNASS*

*Makes an edit of the recent post*

EDIT: PeZook, how do you figure our Energia Vulkan can do 380tonnes in the current gravity? How about at 9.81m s^2? Or are you using the fact that we are doing an Ares V/Energia hybrid?

Because our Saturn V is in fact the closest analogue to the RL Energia, while the Vulkan is an Energia with more AWESOME :D

Oh, yeah, GLASNOSS...I actually wanted to do it today. I blame cusotmers ;)

I did the post anyway. Small footnote. Unless you want to elaborate further.

How do you figure a Zenit with 8 additional cores will work? A ... proto Vulkan?

I don't suppose we could hand-wave a way around the plasma sheath if its physically possible to do so, could we?

Should be possible. The Trident D5 is capable of about 122m CEP.
Ryan Thunder wrote:I don't suppose we could hand-wave a way around the plasma sheath if its physically possible to do so, could we?
It's not possible. The plasma sheath forms as a result of aerodynamic heating. The only way to avoid it would be for you to suffocate in a vacuum.

On another note: the ORBCOMM constellation is quite capable of providing fairly precise timing signals. They incorporate a oven controlled crystal oscillator to provide high short term accuracy signals that are reset based on a time source in Tian Xia that allows a reset when the satellites pass over. It's not as accurate as GPS, but good enough to get you within a mile.

Oh, 50-100 m CEP with inertial are well possible, however, that decreases with distance. Utilizing an ALCM from across the world with inertial would give you a really bad CEP on the order of 200-300 m, unless you using nuclear or vacuum explosives making the CEP mostly irrelevant.
