I guess some industries are going to weep a bit. Then again, I may consider some modernization packages for my existing ships :)
The money spent gutting the ships just to install the system could be used to build new ships.

I don't believe we'll be gutting anything. Ship scrapping is pretty expensive in it's own right; with so many nuclear vessels in the fleet utilization is costly. We can give them to poor nations for overhauls.

Hey, who wants my overhauled modernized Kirov cruisers for sale, eh? :) Armed with around 20 5000-6000 km heavy over Mach-3 ALCMs, and CSR S-400F navalized SAM system. :)

PeZook doesn't have any nuclear ships.

Any how, I will also be letting go my KDX-III ships in batches of 3.

How much for a refurbished Kirov or KDX-III, then?

I'll probably sell them at 1/5 the build price. Like 250million. I will probably let go my Kirovs for... 500 million?

*fiddles with budget*

I will be willing to take four of those Kirovs. They'll do great before the Great Naval Ordering Spree of 2016 brings in results :D

A few words from the new President. :P

Guys, is it just me or has the game slowed down somewhat? So many ongoing stories and yet little progress. :P I'm guessing everybody is a bit busy with RL, still I hope that some of these loose ends will be tied up soon. We have two Presidents stuck in a limbo of sorts, which I hope will be resolved soon :D

I think people are busy? I sure hope the game doesn't die too soon, though I would imagine it would die eventually.

The plotline of Steve and me took a bit longer to resolve than I thought, and I've decided I don't really want to move on with other stuff until that's resolved. Otherwise I'd've launched my new orbiter by now, and posted a bunch of stuff about what's going on in Coilerburg and so on, but that'll have to wait for a bit now.

And Shroom was gone for a week or two, so I figure that has cut into the usual SDNW nuttery quite a bit too ;).

I agree, that would suck. I'm waiting for news on the two presidents. That's the big thing for Miratia right now.

I wouldn't worry about the slowdown, BTW. We've had quite a few already.

Don't worry, I've discussed this with Setzer...let's just say soon enough Sirnoth will exit FUN and join the Old Dominion OICAS. :D

I agree, I can think of at least two times this has been declared dead, and yet we have continued on.

That being said, I would like Steve and Siege to finish their plotline, so I can work on one I have.

Man... I start with the serious business first, since the last time round, everyone went on their own business after the main event without anything seriously discussed beyond Shroomania's inductance!

Fin, it's probably because nobody knows what you want them to do :)

We kinda agreed that yeah, we should standardize weapons and continue our programs and invest in science. Hooray! :D

What we need:

1) An agreement on joint development and standardization of weapon systems. Right now it's "whoever gets around to writing it" and then sells them to others

2) Unified foreign policy agreement

3) Profit!

That would have been easy if not for the fact people keep forgetting or what other reason they can come up with, or the fact that most of you don't know the technical issues. In any case, some of it is based on realistic development time scales.

Why don't we just let the knowledgable people (basically everyone except me and Shady) delegate these research, development and production stuff to the member nations in a form of division of labor according to each nation's strengths and such.

It'd be a waste to have Shroomania, say, not make anything because I'm an ignoramus who spends most of his time writing feats of dickery.

I didn't share some documents just that you guys just read and say absolutely nothing about it!

In any case, Shroomania's recent entrance meant it will take time to integrate you into the scheme of things. In any case, we have delegated some of the work, though I haven't figured what PeZook wants to do since his military budget is rock bottom among the 5 of us, and since Shady is now UCSR, it means just about a lot of the projects are dominated by the UCSR, as it should be. Many projects I merely vaguely state that the work was somehow delegated and subcontracted out. Note that now that you are in, any project that Byzantine Aeronautics is involved in, BAM is now as a whole is now involved, which means you get work coming your way.
