Well, your Tian Jiao holding, the UCSR position in the AFSR or whatever South Frequesue is called now, and the Shinra base in the Vineyards either preceeded the organization's push for renewed non-interference or were basically presented to the FTO as fait accompli.

There's also the Frequesue Neutrality Pact to consider, which basically says the entire FTO has to authorize the deployment of military forces to the continent that were not already there when the Neutrality Conference was started.

I'm sure it is. It's just that it took the FTO multiple game-years to stabilize the areas of the CFR that we're currently active in, and that's with somewhat friendly locals on our side-- if Tian Xia is going to turn Mortimer's Claim into a puppet state or whatever it is you're planning to do you ought to bleed for it. I don't care much for what you do down there beyond that, really. If the Empire wants to waste money on the CFR that's fine by me, but you'd probably be better off colonizing bits of Velaria. I'm pretty sure that's closer to Tian Xia too.
Not to mention, not on my fucking doorstep.

The USCR could help the FTO maintain their neutrality, if need be :) . We don't want new foreign forces in Frequesque. :)

At least, strong diplomatiс notes are in order.

Oh I'm leery all right, it's just that I'm a bit busy with other matters to concern myself much with what goes on in the boonies. And Mortimer's Claim is about as 'boonies' as it gets. Anyway, did Tian Xia sign the Neutrality Pact? I guess we could throw up some embargoes against Tian Jiao if/when the Empire begins doing things we don't approve of, but let's face it-- that's about all we can do.

And besides, I'm of half a mind that the poor people of Mortimer's Claim might very well be better off under Tian Xian rule...

Nope. And if I signed it now, I'm in control of Tian Jiao, which means it doesn't apply to me. Here's the deal: if you want people to pay attention to it, you really have to phrase it as a declaration: "The Frequesquean Treaty Organization will not allow foreign powers to send troops into Frequesque." and then you actually need to enforce it. Which may lead to war, but then people would actually pay attention to you.

Also, it'd help to engage the only major power with territorial holdings in F-ing. :P
And besides, I'm of half a mind that the poor people of Mortimer's Claim might very well be better off under Tian Xian rule...
Quite probably. I do have more than one motive for helping out the people there. I'm a dictator, but I'm a dictator who cares.

Ah, so you're going to send a note to your own allies to stop the opening of bases in F-ing?

So, if anyone wants to bid on the Revenue Service Fast Cutter, feel free. Builder gets 20 million, the other 10 million is for government furnished equipment. Total value of the contract is 500 million ROBs. Three criteria: looks cool, functionality, and politics.

EDIT: bids must be in by Sunday.

Take your pick

Standard MESS discount applies, prices reflect full equipment installation costs so you can chop several mil off for that. Obviously those are a bit higher than your stated price range but I'm not sure you will find all that much cheaper out there in the <300tonne range. Based on the debacle with the Island class I was wroking on the assumption that the 110 footers (which don't have endurance beyond about 1500-2000nm) would cost between 30 and 40mil new built.

All right, I'll toss in my hat. Here's the NFT entry. It's a bit more heavily armed than previous entries because let's face it-- the bad guys around Frequesue tend to pack more heat.

Whitecap-class Fast Patrol Craft

Active roll-damping fin stabilizers have been added for operation in high sea states. Manufactured by Coilerburg Iron Works, Fallston.

Displacement: 405t (full load)
Propulsion: 4x Universal Motors 2599 diesel engines for 20,000hp
Maximum speed: >35 knots
Range: 3000 miles at 12 knots
Crew: 30

Armament: Customizable, Standard:
  • 1x Ralson Arms 76mm Super Rapid gun
  • 2x 4-cell launchers for MM40E Exocet

Pr.1240 Uragan-class Fast Patrol Craft

Image

Mainstay Crimson "heavy" fast patrol craft. Kick them in the gut with this "small missile ship".

Displacement: 426 tons (full load), 342 ton standard, 299 ton empty.
Propulsion:
2x gas turbines M-10, summary power 36 000 h.p.
2x slow-motion diesels M-401 (DRA-211), summary power 2200 h.p.
GTG-100 gas turbine generators - 3x100 kWt
DG-100 diesel generators - 2x100 kWt
Maximum speed: 60 knots max on wings, 50 knots cruise speed on wings, 36 knots economic speed on wings
Range:
702 miles (at 60kt)
1250 miles (at 36kt)
1500 miles (at 8,5kt)
Autonomy: 5 days
Crew: 34 men

ARMAMENT:
2 x 2 Yakhont/BrahMos 1st generation launchers (4 Yakhont 1st generation missiles).
Osa-AKM anti-air CIWS missile launcher (20 9К33М3 "Osa-AKM" missiles).
1x6-barrel 30mm AK-630M artillery system (3000 ammo - 2000 in the feed, another 1000 in a storage container)

Price: can be negotiable, but it's likely to be around $30 million. Available from stock, most hulls are from the years 200X.

Upside: if Revenue Service suddenly has to confront a corvette, frigate or god forbid a real destroyer like an Arleigh Burke in coastal waters, it has 4 very fast supersonic missiles do so to. The distances are likely to be very small. Good chance. If you don't like someone's plane overhead, you can down him with the Osa-AKM SAM system - it's modern enough to down most stuff, and prop-driven sea patrol planes as well as contrabandist planes are very vulnerable to it.
Downside: the armament of this boat might be excessive for your needs. You might want new hulls not stock hulls, even though service time for most has been very limited due to the hundreds of them available for service in the UCSR.

Pr.133 Antares-class Fast Patrol Craft

Image

Displacement: 220t
Maximum speed: 60 knots, 50 knots cruise on wings
Range: 450 miles (at 60kt)
Autonomy: 5 days
Crew: 20 men

ARMAMENT:
1x 76,2 mm gun
1x6-barrel 30mm AK-630M artillery system (3000 ammo - 2000 in the feed, another 1000 in a storage container)
2x 533-mm torpedo tubes

Price: should be around $10-15 million

Upside: can shred anyone who isn't armed and costs hell cheaper than other contenduhs. The usual mook still can't outrun it... and few can anyhow.
Downside: can't down planes and can't really score a kill on a corvette, destroyer or frigate, no matter how hard it tries. Anything with missiles and this bird is dead.

I'll say this: everyone so far is failing the "looks cool" criteria. Current leader is Siegetank, though his weapons fit is entirely inappropriate for the TXRS, given the lack of use of all of them in the TXRS.
