And as I'm in Melbourne now I look forward to catching up again at some point. Perhaps as part of the long awaited Aussie meet.
That would be terrific! If there was ever going to be a aussie meet, Melbourne or Sydney would be the logical choices.
Ando and I were thinking of either the Trek XI release or the Terminator 4 release, both of which are in May. We'd love your input on any SDNAU meet ideas.
EDIT: In Melbourne, of course. It makes sense for so many reasons.

Congratulations, mate. If you need anything in the near future, shoot us a PM!
I love the smell of September in the morning. Once we got off at Richmond, walked up to the 'G, and there was no game on. Not one footballer in sight. But that cut grass smell, spring rain...it smelt like victory.

Yes, yes, this is all fine and dandy, Great, even. But we now have some serious business to attend to. Stofsk has been a member in good standing for some time now, and that means he gets some kickass gear right off the bat in SDN World -

Trek XI would be fitting. We had an SDNAU meet for the ROTS release back in '05.
EDIT: In Melbourne, of course. It makes sense for so many reasons.
Agreed. I also think it should be over the weekend, for obvious reasons, so we'd watch the film on a Friday or a Saturday or something rather than the customary Thursday premiere. I think for the ROTS meet we watched the film on the Saturday afternoon.
Can I just say that when news of Trek XI being developed reached me in prison the result was I turned giddy like a schoolboy. I'm sure everyone here has been following it a lot closer than I have, all I've had to go by are some magazine articles on it. It does look good.
Excellent! I had resigned myself to Australian law being too fucked up to correct itself; I don't think I've ever been this happy to be proven wrong. I've been grinning so much since I read this my cheeks are feeling a little tired. And I don't know Chris at all.
I'm one of the newbies here, stofsk. So I really wasn't able to know about your place in the SDN Forums, but it's good to see you free from a sentence that you got from a crime you didn't commit.
Welcome back, Stofsk. :3

Man, I have to tell you this: seeing your avatar in a post again made for the high point of my week.
It's great having you back.

I have developed a great deal of contempt for the jury system over the years. It was the OJ Simpson case that really opened my eyes, lo those many years ago. When "justice" is "whatever you can sell to a jury of 12 randomly selected idiots off the street", one must worry. Jurors have no required qualifications, and no accountability whatsoever. And yet they're the fulcrum of our entire justice system.

The sample is not random. Both lawyers do their level best to remove intelligent, educated people from the jury, because those people are harder to manipulate.
And... even though I said as much over AIM earlier.

The ironic thing is, intelligent and educated people were what we wanted on my jury.
But the American jury selection process is more complicated and involved than the Victorian model. Vympel's friend told me that in NSW you can elect to have either a judge sit on you or to have a jury. I don't know how long they've had that system in place.

I hear that it's best to have a judge if you're innocent and a jury if you're guilty.
Glad you're back, by the way. I ended up being housemates with one of your old school chums, and I told her you were out, so you might hear from her at some stage (or not - she's unreliable is she).

I joined long after you were wrongfully imprisoned, but I lurked on-and-off before then. I must admit to having missed your posts. And your avatar.
It's good to see that justice has been set aright in this, at the bare minimum. Hopefully the real killer is caught, and hopefully something is done to compensate for the years of your life lost.

I felt so alone in prison, you don't know what it means to have people believe in you when you're in that kind of place, with it's oppressive atmosphere of negativity and bleak despair. Considering the courts decision yesterday, I don't think I can ask or expect anyone to offer any donations to a legal battle that's effectively over and won. The offer is heart-warming though. Thanks everyone!
Dude I'm sure I speak for everyone when I say that we'd all like to buy you a drink, hooker or whatever. Most of us can't get to Australia so a pay pal donation is our way of getting you that drink, hooker, or whatever. Man you deserve it enjoy it.
