Wait until the inspectors say that it is certain that Iraq has weapons and are refusing to turn them over.

Wait for the UN to authorise action.

THEN attack.

I think the US should wait until at least a couple other nations decide to join our side.

I say we get support from other nations just so the attack doesn't look unilateral and defiant. That wouldn't go well with some.

We need to take our time and get more evidence and more countries on our side before we go bombing the shit outta Iraq.
But in the end, if no one joins us, we are going in solo.

Powell's speech was convincing. Let loose the Dogs of War.

Did you watch Powell's address? Seriously, if Iraq's got even half the stuff Intelligence says he does, I want him out of the picture.

Wars have been started over far more worthless intelligence with less long term benifits. Inspections are FUTILE. This is a BIG country. The only way the inspectors are going to find anything is if Saddam tells them where things are or if he has so many he can't manage to hide them all.

This is not hide and seek. Iraq claims they have already disarmed ... it is their burden of proof to demostrate they have indeed disarmed. When they talk about actively subverting the process ... kill em.

Inspections are a DEAD END. Even if they march through all of Iraq and find every frikking weapon ... what do you plan to do? Continue the dual-use embargo? Inspect till Saddam (and his heir apparent Uday) leave power (voluntarily or in a box). The whole bloody point is Saddam is untrustworthy and even with PERFECT inspections this doesn't end the threat. If we can't trust Saddam to play nicely now (when the US is assembling the world's largest, most technologically advanced force on his border) why in hell would we be able to trust him when the US pulls out and the inspectors aren't in the country?

Really does anyone here honestly see a viable future with Saddam in power? Anything that will keep him from developing WMD's once the inspections finish?
Very funny, Scotty. Now beam down my clothes.

I'm taking a lot of that with a grain of salt. They've said a lot of things but haven't backed up most of them. Once they back this stuff up I'll be in favor of doing some about Saddam.

But I'd also like to see Bin Laden's head decorating Ground Zero before we do anything about Saddam as well.

Umm do you have any clue how many intelligence people have to be screaming right now? Now that Saddam knows the US can intercept his phone calls do you think ANYTHING important is going down that line again? Now that Saddam knows how the US locates and identifies whitewash trucks do you think he won't change the MO?

Powell gave away valueable intelligence assets and as we type Iraq's intelligence agencies are pouring over the text any going line by line to locate moles and informants. In reality there is a good shot people will die because of what the US just released.

I mean seriously what bloody level of proof do you demand, and what end game solution do you see when it is abundantly clear Saddam cannot be trusted?
