Has anyone subjected politically Liberal vs. Conservative test subjects to brain-activity monitoring when presented with different policy, etc concepts?

I wonder if there's anything useful to be learned by the way gay-people-marrying lights up a Conservative's brain, or how Creationism-in-schools works upon a Liberal's.

Beyond basic aversion, or fight/flight responses.

I recall a study that showed conservatives to have stronger emotional reactions to seemingly threatening images. I'll look for it.

We should probably clarify "conservative" to mean "social conservative". The term "fiscal conservative" has lost all meaning; most of the people who call themselves "conservatives" on economic issues are actually advocating extreme economic liberalism.
