...BARNSTABLE MA-BRISTOL RI-DUKES MA-EASTERN KENT RI- EASTERN PLYMOUTH MA-NANTUCKET MA-NEWPORT RI-NORTHERN BRISTOL MA- SOUTHEAST PROVIDENCE RI-SOUTHERN BRISTOL MA-SOUTHERN PLYMOUTH MA- WASHINGTON RI-WESTERN KENT RI-WESTERN PLYMOUTH MA- 735 AM EST FRI FEB 7 2003
...WINTER STORM WARNING THROUGH THIS EVENING...

THE WINTER STORM WARNING HAS BEEN EXPANDED TO NOW INCLUDE ALL OF SOUTHEAST MASSACHUSETTS AND ALL OF RHODE ISLAND...EXCEPT NORTHWEST PROVIDENCE COUNTY. LATEST SATELLITE...RADAR AND COMPUTER INFORMATION INDICATES A SOMEWHAT HEAVIER SNOWFALL APPEARS TO BE IN STORE FOR SOUTHEASTERN NEW ENGLAND.

IN MASSACHUSETTS...THE WARNING NOW INCLUDES PLYMOUTH...BROCTON AND TAUNTON...IN ADDITION TO NEW BEDFORD...WAREHAM...CAPE COD... NANTUCKET AND MARTHAS VINEYARD. IN RHODE ISLAND...THE WARNING NOW INCLUDES THE CITY OF PROVIDENCE IN ADDITION TO WESTERLY... KINGSTON AND NEWPORT.

SNOWFALL TOTALS IN THE WARNING AREA WILL RANGE BETWEEN 6 AND 12 INCHES ACROSS THE SOUTH COAST OF MASSACHUSETTS AND RHODE ISLAND...INCLUDING CAPE COD...NANTUCKET...MARTHAS VINEYARD AND BLOCK ISLAND. TOTAL ACCUMULATION IN THE PROVIDENCE...TAUNTON AND PLYMOUTH AREA IS EXPECTED TO REACH 4 TO 8 INCHES BEFORE THE SNOW TAPERS OFF THIS EVENING.

THE SNOW IS THE RESULT OF A LOW PRESSURE AREA THAT WILL PASS WELL SOUTHEAST OF NANTUCKET EARLY THIS EVENING. THIS IS EXPECTED TO BE A POWDERY TYPE OF SNOW. AT TIMES VISIBILITY IN THE WARNING AREA WILL BE REDUCED TO A HALF MILE OR LESS. THE SNOW SHOULD BEGIN TO TAPER OFF MID OR LATE EVENING.

A WINTER STORM WARNING IS ISSUED WHEN HEAVY SNOW ACCUMULATING MORE THAN 6 INCHES IS EXPECTED.

funny, we get a decent storm on the 25th anniversary of the great blizzard.
Dalton, i hear that Eastern Long Island is supposed to get the worst of it.... a foot or more. wax that shovel dude!

LOL! Yeah. It is pretty thick here, but I'm closer to the western end of the Island. Suffolk County got shafted, Nassau not as much.

I got a couple of inches where I am, and it delayed school for 2 hours. I hope I get more, though. It's not like it makes a difference, I only go outside in the winter ot showvel snow.

After a super wet December we go almost no precip in January. Hopefully February will be wet otherwise we might be headed for a drought.

well, it's 2:30 and we have about 5 inches on the ground. it's still coming down... about 3/4 inch to an inch per hour...going to be like that for a few more hours too.

0 Inches and some High-Velocity Ice Shrapnel. New Orleans is so lovely in the Winter-Recreation department! At least yall don't have to deal with 5 months of 90+F @ 80%Humidity!
