I read that earlier this morning. He does seem to have a knack for getting close to people that he shouldn't. How he gets through the Secret Service and Capital Police is beyond me.

Probably not the service taking tickets. And if he passed through the security screening then there's not much of a problem. The guys running the operation are still in deep shit though.

I really did think this thread was about the guy from Banzai.

Man, I miss Banzai. I always won the penis game.

I'm not entirely surprised that he wasn't stopped. After all, he was walking up to deliver a letter and a handshake. He wouldn't have had the bladed foot positioning, set shoulders, slightly sprung knees etc that diplomatic protection groups look for on assassins.

That he slipped through the outer net is embarrassing, that once inside he shook hands is not that worrying.

If he went through the security screen you can't hope for anything better. If a nation state wants to kill the US president they won't have a hard time doing it. It's covering it up and dealing with the center strike that proves rather fatal.

Four guys, three to gun down anyone in the area in case of hidden service agents and one with a Bunker defeat Munition or equivalent could kill the president in the oval office fairly easily. The windows won't be stopping a shaped charge, and a frag grenade in that space would likely kill everyone. Though knowing when he's inside and its not a major event that would step up security would be hard.
