Bah.. I'm going to try something unconventional. Beowulf, your secretary will get a note.

I just remembered something very very peculiar to the Chinese and something might be worked out.

I, uh....didn't plan that Shady.

EDIT: Me and Beowulf had been planning him coming on down for a ship launch, but obviously he decided to walk on in. I did PM him before I invited you down to say that I could be used as a backdoor to negotiate the UCSR/Port NIke thing.

I also think Stas failed to divide al-Akharabat into the Katangwa Free State and Caravoland, as well as listing the various Japanistani, Zorian, and Cascadian holdings in northern Veleria.

Yeah, I did fail to make minor divisions, especially in Veleria. However, I did re-read the thread and note that both MESS and Japanistan had contingents operating there.

Astaria isn't gone, it was just drawn white. It was killed in 2010 when it was obscured by huge biodeath signs.

Also, hello to Beowulf, who struck Astaria, including it's not-stricken by biodeath Velerian holdings, with tons of chemical weapons from SSGNs ;) I had forgotten about that little incident.

Well, his inadvisable usage of biological weapons on Shepistan, required a response. I'm sure if Shep had remembered, he'd have hit up his Velerian holdings as well. *shrug* What would your response have been if your ally's holdings had gotten hit by blowby from the attack? I can't recall, but I think I still had some troops in the OD as well. Even if I didn't, there were Tian Xia citizens there. It's one thing if they're in a belligerent country. It's another if they're in a non-belligerent country.

I believe we settled on segments of eastern Astaria, mostly along the northeastern peninsula, being "Green Zones" where habitation was possible and where an Astarian population still exists. Though it doesn't change the fact that as a country Astaria was utterly shattered. IIRC they are now considered a Shroomanian protectorate.

As for MESS in Veleria, that's generally been reduced to advisors from Canissia still training Katangwa Free State forces I believe. The more prominent positions are the Japanistani Velerian Colonies in northwestern Veleria, the Cascadian Van Halstoff Territory on a peninsula near al-Itani (and I believe currently bordering Japanistan's Velerian holdings, Cascadia's Welles Coastal Territory further east between al-Itani and Tanvarika, at the base of the Gulf of Carpenti, along with the Frequesuan-settled "Republic of Nuparadise" a bit to the west of Welles Island, and finally, Zor's Port Adria holding and his Ironridge Mountain resource extraction operations upriver from Port Adria, along with probable stations along the Dragonsnake River to provide aid for river barges transporting the resources of the Ironridge stations to Port Adria (formerly the entire Dragonsnake River Valley was claimed by Zoria, but Zoria ceded those claims to native Malip and Egsa peoples as a result of the Peace of Constantinople with the Syrian Caliph).

I forgot about the gas weapons. I guess, that still stands.

As for time, this would come after the summit ended and after Stas came to visit me.

Uh, Siege? The little conversation between Shady and I occurs fairly soon after the summit, still in unreal time. There's not really time for all that to happen. As I said, if this agreement is reached, the real effects occur immediately, in non-unreal time. It is approximately 8 months game time after the summit. Thus we can assume that Port Nike is now civilian, and the UCSR base in Livorno is under the control of the AFSR.

Alternatively, if you feel like that timeline doesn't work, for whatever reason, then what Exarch Decius discusses with the Tian Xia delegation would have the same effect.

Well, if we go by current time, some 3-6 months after the summit, we can actually have another summit to have something signed......

The problem really, as what I pointed out ages ago, was that the summit had no agenda. Because it had no agenda, and no background work was laid, people were just coming to the summit for a fight. I actually sent a proposal up through Shinra so that the proposal could be discussed and some details talked about. Then came to the summit and some things came up but then because there was the issue of 'face', some things could not be admitted up front publicly.

So in the end, the summit was doomed for failure because inadequate ground work was laid down prior to the summit.

The summit was started 21 April. It's more than 9 months after the summit game time.

Shall we do some timing here?

I would say that the meeting between your Secretary and my Exarch would take place post summit.

After say 3-4 months of rounds of diplomatic talks between officials, then Shady visits Old Dominion.

Another 4-6 months after that, after more trashing out of more details, we hold another summit again, this time for the sole purpose of signing the deal, which took.... 9-10 months to trash out.

Logical?

Well, Decius probably isn't meeting with Secretary Doyle, but rather either an undersecretary or the Ambassador to Cascadia. Most likely the latter. But yes, immediately following the summit.

However, tone of the discussion between Premier Shady and the Huang Di is not conducive to there being a long period of diplomatic discussion. Ditto the lead in by Lonestar. I'd imagine weeks, possibly a month at most. Couple weeks after that, at most, since this is really a fairly simple treaty, we have a nice flashy press conference to officially sign the deal (though preparations for the agreed terms would have already been in motion).

Which brings us to today, where the terms would have finished executing, resulting in Livorno no longer hosting a fleet base for the UCSR, and Port Nike being in civilian (though still government) hands.

That's fine with me, though I would imagine that there's still lots of to and fro that would last for weeks between UCSR, Frequesue, Byzantium within CATO to get everything settled.

If the deal is a go, the ships in Livorno would have to be relocated to Baerne and NFT.

There's already a sizeable force deployed in Coilerburg (NFT), but we might augment the squadron there with one destroyer 21956 if the facilities can accomodate another destroyer. It would lead the NFT Expeditionary Destroyer Squadron constisting of itself and 2 Udaloy-II type destroyers.

Other three destroyers, Yasen SSN and all aerial assets could be relocated to Baerne, I am sure his port facilities can accomodate them. Also, I would have 2 Neustrashimy frigates reassigned to the Baerne fleet group, to give the forces there smaller ASW and forward patrol ships in case they need them.

Hah! That would be most excellent. It should be about time she got her PeZookian affairs in order.

You did, and evidently she resigned. That'll make things interesting for setting up some way to run into each other, since she won't have her status anymore.
