I've played with someone who's (apparently) in GB, while my cousin, one of his friends and I were this side of the pond. Lag wasn't a real issue for us. Granted, there's a decent sized fibre that comes ashore not far from here.

For the 360 owners, we finally received the patch that makes Versus bearable. Unfortunately, it was only the visual fixes for infected along with a few other. Versus is still unquestionably in favor of the survivors with the exception of blockables in No Mercy.

I'm really getting tired of being able to find no information/changelogs on patches for 360 games.

I've got a question I was wondering if any other players might know the answer to: In Verses, specifically the No Mercy campaign, if a survivor makes it into the heli, but was then quickly knocked down or incapacitated (but not killed outright) before the heli took of, does it still count as surviving the level in either case?

The reason I ask is that last night, I was playing Verses, and I managed as a Tank (BTW, by that time I was the last player on the Infected side still playing on that server for the last five minutes or so) to jump in after a couple of the survivors made it into the heli while the other two were still outside (and thus the chopper was just still waiting there). While I was unable to smack either of the survivors out the far door of the heli, I did knock both down, and I believe that I also managed to incapacitate one of them before the heli's timer ran out and left... Unfortunately, I was too busy laughing at the situation to pay attention to the scores, thus my question.

P.S. As for what happended to the other two survivors, I managed to incapacitate one (who was still alive and kicked in the head by zombies as the heli left) as a Hunter before being forced spawned as the Tank, and the last remaining survivor still had solid green health, but was either so busy being chased by zombies or was so desperate to avoid the Tank that the heli's timer ran out and left with him still on the roof.

If they were in the helicopter, then they counted as being "in the safe room." So, the two guys you knocked down counted towards the survival multiplier, but they gave no health bonus (technically they were at 0 health).

Also, I never reposted. I was wrong about the patch on certain issues. Smoker tongues now do damage immediately after "pinning" a survivor. You also can't do anymore immediate death pulls as smoker unless they fall off the roof. Other than that, they've also removed the ability for survivors to hide underneath the ramp on the finale with hilarious effects. I've spawned as hunter underneath the ramp and had to have our tank kill me.

Not on the PC. If they're down they're down and don't count as surviving. I was able to knock one teams multiplier down from x4 to x3 by running ahead and hiding in the safe room and slashing one guy after they closed the door. Same with the helo.

There are still a few areas, most notably Blood Harvest Stage 5, immediatly left of the spawn room. Smoker gets behind the rocks and if he's quick enough on the button mashing can spawn in and pull one of the survivors to him. If he gets them all the way then as soon as the surivor is released they drop down the cliff.

Personally, I think it's random. I've had an instance like that. We got all 4 to the safe room, but Mike didn't check the bathroom like I told him to. The door was shut, and a hunter incapped a pub on our team. We lost about 50 some-odd points from our health bonus, but still got the x4 multiplier. Other times, we've incapped a survivor in the safe room and they only received a x3. I could be wrong and just mixing things up in the thick of it. We used to test this stuff a lot more in private games, but no one is really interested in that. They'd rather play 2fort... I mean No Mercy.

Same concept of "Falling of the roof." I find those kinds of pulls less objectionable because they are difficult to pull of and make sense that falling off a cliff would kill you. Dieing from a fall that would only do 20 or so damage without the smoker pulling you there is very frustrating.

I saw this on Joystiq yesterday and started the download before I left this morning. I doubt my opinion's going to change after playing the 360 version but we'll see.

You might be surprised. The 360 ports of many Valve titles are shit by comparison to their PC versions with their free and frequent updates.

Different teams work on the console versions. On that note I think I'm finally going to be trying out L4D since 23$ is about right for what I think this is worth, a twenty dollar mod. I figure ten dollars for that cut-scene and the rest for the game.

I think Valve actually make their own 360 ports but contract out the PS3 version (though it's a different Valve team that does the actual conversion). On the TF2 blog they made a post saying one of the reasons why they haven't released all the extra content on 360 TF2 is that the game was already stretching the memory limit of the console so they were basically having to go back through and heavily optimise it for low memory usage. I'm guessing this is VRAM and not having enough for the new models which seems impressive they were running so close to the wire already.

My flatmate bought L4D because of the sale, so we played survivor for a little while. Pretty shit at it so far, I do like it when you hole up somewhere and the first thing that happens is one of the walls disappears.
