Dammit, when is SB going to restart registration?

The mods/admins might not know about Shakkara. I mean, really, if they knew she was there and chose not to ban her, why the continued closed registration?Spanky The Dolphin wrote:Fucking Christ, what the fucking hell does it take for you guys to actually BAN someone there?!Shinova wrote:Shakarra can still post by the way, using one of her accounts.
And SD.net is professional? Don't get me wrong, I like this place, but you can hardly say SD.net is not an amateur endeavour, albeit a well done one.Seriously, guys, SpaceBattles sounds like it seriously needs a facelift in organization and moderatorship. You guys are fucking amatures.
Now, if Wong started charging for registration or something, I might be inclined to say otherwise, but until then, most web boards share a status of amateurity.
And quite frankly, Spanky, it's more or less been like it is now for the past several months if not more. Hell, I think it's gotten better in previous months... there was a time when a thread had a 1 in 3 chance of being hijacked by dumbasses who used the forums as their own personal chat room.
Admit it. Your problem isn't just with the management; your problem is with the entire community there.
Don't know about the HBMC bans, though I've been super-temp banned by CG twice for deliberately thumbing my nose at him in equally frivolous threads. He even emailed me and wanted to make sure I wasn't overly offended or anything. But in that case, I knew I was asking for it, so I was actually amused. (especially since I was off on holiday for the duration of both bans)They can be quite profligate with temporary, frivolous bans, though. HBMC has banned people for saying BYE at the end of their posts, I think Cool Guy has banned people for bashing California and Macs.
Yeah, god knows it's dead usernames that cause AIDS and gingivitis. And they have yet to trim those 1000+ users who have ZERO posts and have been registered for YEARS.

I think what Spanky meant was that the mods over at SB seemed to have less moderating skills than the mods do here. Could also mean that sd.net mods are more involved, thus pay more attention to what people are doing on the boards than the mods do on SB.
I don't think it had anything to do with whether Wong charged people or not.

...and turning this thread into another bashing of SB is professional?
Oh, and I've been posting there for nearly 3 years now, not once in a serious discussion has it been "ruined" because of the mods. Now threads that I don't have a real interest in or are just jokes are another story.. but then that doen't really bother me and I have fun bothering the mods themselves.

Though we are not now that strength which in old days
Moved earth and heaven, that which we are, we are,--
One equal temper of heroic hearts,
Made weak by time and fate, but strong in will
To strive, to seek, to find, and not to yield.

Made weak by time and fate, but strong in will

They ahve attempted to ban here multiple times, from what I understand, its just taht she's using multiple accounts from multiple IP addresses, so PERM Banning isn't working. In order to stop this problem, either Tron or Kier has killed registration.
As to banning, they have banned people before. There was Macky, or Makie, or whoever. He got nailed because he was posting while hgih, and claimed ot have killed someone by giving them laced drugs. They mostly don't ban people, becuase they seem to give people to much a chance. Granted, they should have banned people for the Ripped Shirt Kirk vs. Ripped Shirt Janeway thread, but that was my personal opinion.
