It's fine with me to eliminate ISDIIIs. It's just that I vaguely recall that some Imperators were given proton torpedo launchers. I forgot where I read of those though. Oh... I remember now. It was the Chimaera in Specter of the Past.

That aside, one thing that strikes me is that the ISD is due for some... streamlining and cutting down some flaws to make it easier and cheaper for manufacture, and also have 2-4 turrets aimed in front with the option of turning to deliver broadsides.

EDIT: Some other points of note. It seems by Specter of the Past, at some point, ISDs were given cloaking devices, and some tactics were developed to make useful use of them, such as the use of an asteroid to steer 3 ISDs towards Bothawui.

Czechmate, I reviewed your OOB and I cannot in good conscience approve of it. It reeks of you trying to sneak in things.

First of all, there is no way Er'Kit, a desert planet on which slavers regularly operate, is approaching homeworld level. You might switch that status with Taris, although calling Taris a homeworld is likewise stretching it.

Second - your OOB has an overdrawn columm in it. Please notice that you are not allowed to spend more than your allotted points, as these points represent not just money, but your industrial capacity as a whole.

Your OOB also has an Overlord. This ship is not allowed at the start of the game as you must control at least five major worlds to built it. The highest you can go for are the Allegiance class destroyers.

Also, you violate the rules by buying a 1200m shipyard that is not allowed at the start of the game.

Finally, your fleet distribution - we all know what is going to happen here, namely that you do not buy any corvettes now and then construct loads of them. No way that is going to fly. Every other player has taken pains to diversify their fleet to a reasonable level, please do so. It is quite frankly laughable that your navy has no corvettes.

You have not bought a single resupply base. This means that your ships cannot resupply anywhere, which also means that by now they all should be dead of hunger and the ships should be running out of fuel anytime.

I'll also veto your custom design of the Taris. Custom designs are not allowed at the start of the game.

Please adjust your OOB accordingly.
Thanas beat me to it, so I'll just second him. Czechmate, Consider this your first warning, this kind of behavior will not be tolerated.

Perhaps Coyote should make a new thread that will contain only the rules and nothing else, we can ask Bean to sticky it. That way, there will be no digging for rules all over the place.

Heh. Great minds think alike. I just suggested that to him a quarter-hour ago when I sent him the updated rules.

For every one,

My 'plans' for the Salvage operation are to in the future (a couple years or more) kick up an event similar to the black fleet crisis with the Yevetha. That is so long as no players take the Yevetha as a starting base before then. Otherwise the salvage operation has four clauses and should normally be treated as a trade pact.

The first clause is the protection and recognized neutrality of any vessel on errands of mercy or recovery of historical property with the additional obligation of disposal of dangerous objects from all recovered wrecks. Second clause is about the obligation to return mortal remains to their home governments. Third is the eventual goal of creating a war museum with some of the recovered materials. And Fourth is the non-obligatory sharing of Intelligence gathered from any salvage operation, if it is important for the security of both nations.

Deal?

Hey, all.

Thanas got me the condensed rules and I will be posting it soon.

I also sent rule ideas to Thanas, Shady and Rogue regarding Armies and resolving combat.

Hopefully we'll have it all posted PDQ.

Speaking of points I object to the TIE Defender being labeled "Experimental", the TIE Phantom was experimental as there were less than ten thousand made. The TIE Defender saw more use than the TIE Hunter, yet that's a two pointer.

I think we have to delineate the two different versions of the TIE Defender, the one present in WEG literature and the one in the X-Wing books. Both are visually identical however one comes with much heavier blaster cannons, hyperdrive and a tractor beam. Both feature twin missile tubes, four laser cannons, two ion cannons, armor & shielding grid.

I don't disagree point for point until your taking about Vong era ships it's the most powerful fighters out there, but to put it on the same level as a fighter equipped with a cloaking device?

If I can't get that adjusted I want a price check on a stripped down version of the defender, no tractor beam, no blaster cannons ect. I'm just aiming for a four pointer defender at this point.

Also can we in the rule-set confirm that cap-ships cost come w/fighter & or lander complements? Yes/No

I will leave that up to Coyote.

They come with standard fighter load out and a sufficient force of marines to defend themselves against boarding actions. I'll add it.

I will leave that up to Coyote.

We'll have to have a Defender Mk.-I and a Defender Mk.-II.

I'm also thinking of the TIE Reaper, and yes, the Phantom should be Experimental as well. Didn't the Phantom rely on a control ship to feed each fighter sensor data, though? That would add to costs, but I don't know much about the Phantom.

There was another Tri-Wing Phantom lookalike that was a stripped-down version without the cloak. TIE Clutch, perhaps?

Also can we in the rule-set confirm that cap-ships cost come w/fighter & or lander complements? Yes/No

Yes, absolutely. Fighters and defense troops are standard and free with the point-purchase of a ship, world or station.

It's if you want extra troops or fighters above and beyond that, then one must account for them.

We're working on a scale for armies, costs, upkeep, etc.

The Yevethans would make mincemeat out of your fleets and you certainly would incur the wrath of every civilized nation for this. I know my nation would consider wiping you out in retaliation as you are clearly a genocidal maniac and we do not need another palpatine.

I was joking, but in hindsight, it was in VERY bad taste. My apologies.

You might want to hold on to that for a while longer, we are finalising rules at the moment.

In general, though, thanks for your effort.

A lot of the heavier star destroyers (like the ~3000m classes) are not canon, but we use them in order for scale. That said, we do not need another 1600 m SD class, so I think they'll be struck.

The Nemesis class was like a regular ISD with the "wing tips" (outer rear tips of the triangle) flared out to accommodate masses of additional landing forces and drop pods. I saw it in RPGgamer.org, which has a lot of fan-made ships that, while fan-made, many weren't "offensive/wankish" so we were using them. at SB.com.

You mean one of those ISD conceptual drawings? I remember that one, but that in the end evolved into the Victory class.

I included everything that was on the shiplist that Coyote posted in the rules thread. However I have not checked any sources for starfighter compliments for most the ships, only those I know of the back of my hand.

Anyway the Republic spreadsheet is ready for your perusal, along with a slight update to the Imperial spreadsheet. I think I'll have the next 2 ready and posted together tomorrow.

Hey, everyone - I don't actually have any free time on my hands at the moment (Finals! Ugh!), so I can't type up a full in-character post. Basically, I propose trade pacts and an exchange of ambassadors to everyone who sent me an envoy. Please say yes, so I can afford more shiny warships. :D

Thanas, are you going to write the preliminary arraival to the Kuat system? Or do you want me to? Your emissary will likely be challenged by an ISD that is patroling the in-bound Hyperspace route then escorted into the orbiting platforms.
