There has also apparently been a picture of her with shotguns strapped to her legs and a katana in hand. Mind = blown.

You know the announcement of L4D 2 has made me think about how the 'Director AI' can be used in other FPS games.

I would think that the program can 'force' a large scale battle in MMO using this program, with the Director issuing out different objectives to different people and letting people fight it out in certain strategic locations.

Most games that can support large number of players usually run around as individuals with no clear idea what to do beyond finding and shooting down enemies. The 'director AI' can provide the players with some sense of direction.

Or you could just wholesale steal the idea for coop multi in Gizza3. :) UE3.5 has the advantage of being able to handle hundreds of guys on-map, so you could actually be in the middle of a larger battle doing your silliness.

Well, I'm just wishing that all the people on the maps would work towards some sort of goal as opposed to running around without any sense of direction.

I'm sort of surprised that nobody is talking about the slower paced games like Heavy Rain on here. From what I saw of the game it should be a decent adventure with a unique control scheme and some replay value. Normally I'd also mention waiting for FFXIII but after XII and my general lack of time to play games these days I'm just not sure it'll draw me in like the PS1 games did.

As for the other game that I feel will be made of win, is the always enjoyable Ratchet and Clank series. They may be recycling weapons for the first time in a while, but I haven't failed to enjoy a few play throughs of any game in the series yet.

For games already mentioned I'm really stoked for Crackdown 2 and a new Metal Gear game movie.

So it's looking like the Zelda concept art snuck out of the no-cameras meeting:

That looks like a Twili, although it definitely isn't Midna. For some odd reason, her hair reminds me of Wind Waker's fairy queen.

That's a good observation: the media had been speculating that it was Zelda, but she does look much more in line with the Fairy Queen.

Personally, my first reaction was to assume it was a Zora because of the face bearing a strong resemblance imho. But it might just be the blue shading influencing my associations.

Actually, the fan speculation seems to be that she's the spirit of the Master Sword or some such, since Link isn't holding a sword, and because of her fishnet stockings. It's hilarious how much they read into a single picture.

Also that second image is from A Link to the Past, so WTF.

Zelda fans have been doing this for years. With every new game coming up it's like the pre-release period for Ocarina of Time all over again.

I would have assumed the sword was off-screen. Since Link is, you know, left-handed.

Link's actually empty-handed: For whatever reason somebody cropped the full-size image down.

Yes, it's great comedy. Remember all that bullshit about that film "Ladyhawke" when there was a wolf in the second teaser for Twilight Princess (although that was mostly IGN wasn't it)? They have also noticed that Link's hair is more yellow than in Twilight Princess, and somehow concluded that it must be the Link from Ocarina of Time.

It's almost as much fun as when they complain that each new game is not as good as Ocarina of Time, no matter how much more refined, involving, or fun it is.

:wtf: What manner of bizarre logic leads from fishnet to Master Sword?

That's silly. OoT Link doesn't wear chain-mail. Besides, OoT Link is a lefty, like all proper Links should be, unless facing east. *nods sagely*

He'll probably be right handed again with the new game, since the switch in Twilight Princess was designed so the majority of right handed players would feel more "right" using Wii controls.

Why, this logic, of course.

About as much sense as some retarded fanboy whining that the cyborg in the Metal Gear Rising video couldn't possibly be Raiden because their eye-color is different from MGS4.

Yeah, but really only because of those rings (and the fishnet actually). Miyamoto also made a point of that Link didn't have a sword, so they could well be right. But they could also be hilariously wrong.

The Master Sword in the concept art bears a minimal resemblance to the one that they use in that comparison shot. Which, to me, means:

1. the spirit and the sword are unrelated

or

2. The sword takes on its OoT-esque appearance after the dying spirit is fused to it after she saves Link from the Big Bad's terrible magic.

Neither would surprise me.

That said, can anyone confirm that there's anything interesting on PS3 that isn't GoW3?

Heavy Rain and Uncharted 2 are the only exclusives for the PS3 outside of GoW 3 I'm aware of that look somewhat interesting. Admittedly I haven't looked into either too extensively.

This makes total sense to me.

So if I am reading this right, Nintendo's new set of of "Big 3" games is Metroid Gaiden, some vague Zelda, and four player Mario? The last one seems really lackluster. It's like a romhack or some garage programmer's game.
