yes we did... I thought we were in 2017 already, and we're coming to the middle of the year?
Lì ci sono chiese, macerie, moschee e questure, lì frontiere, prezzi inaccessibile e freddure
Lì paludi, minacce, cecchini coi fucili, documenti, file notturne e clandestini
Qui incontri, lotte, passi sincronizzati, colori, capannelli non autorizzati,
Uccelli migratori, reti, informazioni, piazze di Tutti i like pazze di passioni...

Didn't we slow the time to 1 week = 1 month? Is it 6 weeks now? :?
Yes we did. If we were to assume that 5/15/2009 12:00:01 GMT was the end of 2016 (which is what we agreed on) then right now, 07:20 6/14/2009 would be May 11th 2017.

Again I'll reference my previous posts on the subject of timeline:
CmdrWilkens wrote:We started Aug15 as 2008 ::

Sep15 = 2009
Oct15 = 2010
Nov14= 2011
Dec15 = 2012
Jan15 = 2013
Feb14 = 2014
Mar15 = 2015
Apr15 = 2016
May15 = 2017

From that point the slowdown comes into effect and August 7th will be January 1st 2018...unless we cank the slowdown.
CmdrWilkens wrote:Generally speaking for most weeks it should look like this:

Friday: 1st-4th of the Month
Saturday: 5th-9th of the Month
Sunday: 10th-14th of the Month
Monday: 15th-18th of the Month
Tuesday: 19th-22nd of the Month
Wednesday: 23rd-26th of the Month
Thursday: 27th-30th/31st of the Month
So week 1 (January) was the 15th-21st, week 2 (February) was the 22nd-28th, week 3 (March) was the 29th-4th, week 4 (April) was the 5th-11th, week 5 (May) is the 12th-18th.

I'm gonna post an .xls later today with the complete 2017 conversion...and the formulas already set so you can flip to 2018, or any year for that matter, quickly.

So as promised here is a link to the 2017 Date Conversion file in Excel spreadsheet format. The underlying formulae shoudl be evident enough and the only dates your would need to play with to translate this to 2018 and beyond are the start dates in the upper left hand of the sheet.

So yeah I'm gonna put this out here now so nobody goes crazy if I forget to announce all of the damn missions but the next two MSA programs that are getting funding from everyone (that is seperate from MSA-Dominion, Royal Space Agency, Shinra Space Service, Canissia Royal Extra Planetary Explorations Society, Tian Xia Space Agency, or Cascadia Space Agency programs) will be:

Theseus: Exploration missons in low-earth or medium earth orbit. This includes construciton of permanent habitation modules beginning with Theseus 8. Primary spacecraft is the Delta IV 4260-H for crew lift and Delta IV 4660-H for cargo lift. The orbital vehicle is a derivative of the Dyna-Soar vehicle optimized for orbital manueverability and connection to the planned space station.

Two stations are curretly planned. Theseus 8-22 will construct something similair to the ISS in that it will be an interconnected micro-gravity station. Theseus 23 onwards will begin construction of a dual wheel rotating design built 1.6km in diameter and rotating at 1 rpm in opposite directions producing two hubs with slightly less than Terran standard gravity on the bottom plate. Additional material launches will be made using the Ares VI booster (capable of lifting more than 350MT at a time) during these phases.

The success percentages are:
Result
Total Success, All Systems
Success, 1-2 Minor Failures
Partial Success, one major or multiple minor failures
Partial Failure, multiple major system failure, degenerative orbit reached
Total Failure, destroyed on launch pad

The one uncertainty is on funding. The mission sequence above is based upon a funding reduction of 10-15%, a loss of the funding committment from the Cascadians, no investment from additional partners, additional funding provided to FASTA in order to maintain a developmental rival, and a shift in individual national resources towards military geared programs. In other words short of MESS member nations backing out of the joint MSA civilian projects these missions WILL happen. If the Cascadians maintain their full funding committment, the MSA civilian programs don't lose money to the military, FASTA avoids a funding crisis and any of the several unaligned or non-MESS states agree to join then the mission numbers could jump to as many as 4/qtr by 2021. All told this would increase the mission count to 106 missions and place 636 individuals in space. Realistically planing for an in between scenario I expect to be able to go with 94 missions betwenn 2018 and 2025.

Icarus: This is the MSA mission to Mars. While I don't have the handy ability to figure on relative mechanics I'm working off the Hohman Transfer Orbits between Earth and Mars. Right now I'm figuring the first available launch window that I will have a vehicle ready for is the 2nd quarter of 2022. The basic mission design uses the Ares VI booster to launch an Earth Departure Stage housing the service (but not crew) module only. This unit will feature a combination of J-2X engines and an NSTAR based Ion Engine powered by SCARLET solar panels. Total transfer time en route should be around 260 days.

The first 4 missions will be LEO tests of the systems (since the Ares VI will be new tech even if the Jupiter 120 is more mature). Icarus 5-7 will test the EDS by going on Lunar Orbits and testing the descent stage on 7. Icarus 8, 9, and 10, will be the first to circle Mars. The last (10) will test the descent stage. Icarus 11 and 12 will be landings. All flights to Mars and back use the minimum duration stay (~30 days) and then return in a reverse trajectory.

The success percentages are:
Result
Total Success, All Systems
Success, 1-2 Minor Failures
Partial Success, one major or multiple minor failures
Partial Failure, multiple major system failure, degenerative orbit reached
Total Failure, destroyed on launch pad

NUKULAR WAR WITHOUT END!

Actually, yes, I am trying to stir shit up(in the game, not in-charecter). Hopefully we will soon have incidences of ODN ships ramming NFT vessels, just like in the Good Old Days of the Cold War :)

At this rate, we might as well put another carrier battlegroup in the area... in addition to the one already there.

:D

In fact the NFT military orbiter fleet is housed in hardened silos. Only the civilian fleet at this stage uses open-air launch pads. Moreover, only roughly a third of the orbiter fleet is actually located in San Dorado, which would account for the absurd underestimation of our actual S-1 and S-2 force.

I wonder if Dominion Hawks would show up on the OTH radars. Oh, and I'm all for ramming ships :D.

And I guess Fin is putting up some nukular powered satellites so he can get some radar with enough juice to penetrate bunkers. :D

Of course, CATO space bomber fleet is significantly larger, and you can't use Dominion Hawks to peer into Siberia :P

On the other note, I was meaning to post a "runaway defence budget" summary, but never seem to have the time between the lunar landings and, ahem...other EVIL PLOTS to actually do that.

In summary, PeZookia's renewed defence spending for the next decade:

1) Total replacement of all Eurofighters with CF-01s and all F-15 ACTIVEs with CF-02s

2) Purchase of Contradiction-class cruisers and continental destroyers to replace the totally obsolete navy

3) Scrapping of both Wasp LHDs, to be replaced with one Continental Assault Carrier

4) Purchase of several (4-6) SSNs

5) Re-equipping of the Army: new tanks and artillery pieces, new small arms, rifles, mortarts and MLRS.

6) Purchase of new nuclear delivery systems, perhaps establishment of a strategic bomber force (for maritime defence & strategic deterrence)

7) Replacement of all naval helicopters and maritime patrol craft with modern models

...and anything I forgot :p

Needless to say, it's a plan for as much as two decades into the future.

I think you meant the reverse.

Don't think there's an assault carrier, but there's definitely a fleet carrier...

Oh! Right!

Well, I'll get on it today evening. I made a decision long ago, actually :D

Nope. My air superiority squadrons are all Eurofighters, with F-15s being second line support. Results of political purchase of the F-15 ;)

Thus, it will be a return to proper equipment for their role.

Weren't we developing a modular assault carrier, with a well deck and big enough to operate CFN-01s?

Eh? The F-15 is a heavy fighter with superior avionics (the radar aperture is larger). Eurofighters are really part of the lo end in the hi-lo mix.

That was my own development. Stas said it really wasn't necessary, but I went ahead with it and I aim to mass the carrier similarly to the the QE carrier. I took it that no one in CATO was interested in its development so it's entirely funded by me.

The Continental Class Supercarrier really is a 100,000 tonne carrier with two large runways for take off and landing.

Well, my military is a bit fucked up this way. Originally, all air superiority squadrons were equipped with eurofighters, and got all the best pilots, most funding etc.

Then I decided I needed an interceptor force, so I shopped around, and a political decision was made to buy the F-15 from Shroomania. Which isn't really a very good interceptor.

So, a few years later, we went and dived headfirst into the Mig-31 deal, which worked out great. So, now we have elite air superiority wings flying obsolete Tranche III Eurofighters, with even-more-elite interceptor wings (they have to protect the motherland from nuclear hellfire, after all!) screaming forth on modern Mig-31s, and some guys stuck with F-15s nobody really has a niche for.

...hence the reform :P

Though we may simply replace BOTH the F-15s and Eurofighters with CF-01s altogether.

But not quite, since we WERE interested. I told you in the newsgroup :)

I don't think I need a 100 000 tonne megacarrier. A modular assault ship, or perhaps two (one configured as a carrier, the other as an LHD) would be more elastic in 'peacetime', and able to act as sea domination carriers in case we ever get in a war against the MESS.

Well, you might want to have a mix of CF-01s and CF-02s. CF-01s will be more expensive than CF-02s. I am also aiming for a similar mix.

Alright then. Then the first construction ought to begin sometime 2018-2019.

Yea-ah... I noticed that the bits where the numbers of orbiters should be were awfully empty :). It seemed only fair to update them now, rather than appearing to pull orbiters out of my behind when we switch to GLOBAL THERMONUCLEAR WAR! ;)
