Did B & B think Mulgrew was hot when they cast her as Ja

Post by Superman »

Do you think that B & B find Janeway attractive? I mean, to cast the Mulgrew in that role must have meant that they found something about her attractive. What the hell is wrong with these people?

Remember the scene from one of the Q episodes that showed her in the bath tub? And then they had the audacity to show us her bare leg! Bare wet let! Oh man, I think I'm going to puke just typing this...

A roomate of mine said "Don't you think Janeway's sexy? I do!" I was too shocked to move, or say anything. Then he added "I think it's her voice"
He also loved Professional Wrestling. :(

Maybe we should take a survey and see if there is a correlation between pro wrestling and finding Janeway attractive. Might shed some light on this.

For every woman, there is at least one person who will find them attractive, no matter what others may think.

Now let's be honest.

Kate Mulgrew may not be the best looking woman to ever grace Star Trek (that's Kirstie Alley during her prime), but she's not so ugly that I'd kick her out of bed either.

She just needs a personality other than that of Janeway and that Hollywood liberal PC bullshit erased from her mind.

Build your funeral pyre; beside it, my carpenters will build a gallows. You may follow your custom. And then we will follow ours."- General Sir Charles Napier

Actually, I'd never ever let her into my bed to begin with. Ugh, the voice, the face, that butt ugly hairdo. She's not at all atttractive.

Nah, I don't think Janeway's supposed to be attractive. I rather think that Janeway was supposed to be some sort of Golda Meir-type female leader.

(Golda Meir was Israel's first female prime minister)

The role of Token Eye-CandyTM was probably reserved for Lt. Torres and Kes.... until they decided that Voyager needed two Token Blonde BombshellsTM and added Seven-of-Nine.

Well they did have Kes leave, so it wasn't really two simultaneous Token Blonde BombshellsTM.

Mulgrew or Janeway, she's still a gravely voiced she-male.

Well, when Bujold (sp? the actress first cast for the role) left the serie after only 2 days after the beginning of pilot, we can't really reproach to B&B to have pick the first double-X chromosome person in range...

Mulgrew isn't the most beautiful woman in the world, but she doesn't deserve the she-hag reputation she gets. It's not like it's her fault the Voyager producers, writers, and makeup department were all idiots.

wgat I would like to know is this, why did they take Kirk and Picard, put them together, and make that thing into a woman. That is all Janeway was, a cardboard cut-out of the previous captians. The whole series was like Married With Children in Space.

Janeway

Post by Biddybot »

A lot of non-Trek fans seem to find her quite attractive. When the series was first airing, local TV reviewers writing about VOY actually compared her to Audrey Hepburn--twice! She seems to be most attractive to men in the 35-50 (and older) age bracket.

I've always found that she looks fine. Were I a guy, what would have killed any sex appeal about her for me was never her appearance, but that she started acting motherly. I can't think of a greater turn-off than looking at a woman and thinking of your Mom.

That's interesting because most men end up marrying their mothers. Guys that have overbearing and bitchy moms seem to find women who are exactly like that, guys who have passive mothers hook up with passive wives, and so on.

ANYWAY...

Yes, I meant Kate Mulgrew. I would not let her into my bed either. What a nasty hag. Glocksman, you are obviously an ultra right wing redneck. You sicken me.

Janeway's too MILFy for my taste. That matronly hairstyle, the chain-smoker voice, she seems like a governess right out of Road to Avonlea.

The voice seems to turn a lot of people off. I never minded the smoker's voice, so that might be why I'm not turned off by her.

If I wanted to look at an attractive older woman, I'd look at Sela Ward. Mulgrew is a gravelly-voiced she-man. If I heard that voice come out of Cindy Crawford, I would still be repulsed.

She's let herself go. But she was hot in TWOK, and in her first couple of seasons on Cheers.
