Saw it, I didn't hate it but it was ultimately a very underwhelming film. Like the Matrix Reloaded, it just tried waaay too hard. Attempting to needlessly complexify the plot which succeds in little more than distracting from the characters and wittling away the attention span of the viewers. Besides that, guys like Hav have pointed out that it didn't even make any sense. Sam has to die to make the stupid Autobot Matrix work, but Fallen can literally just walk away with it.
Sure it starts out just fine, why they needed to add all this wierd stuff with the Fallen and "zomg linked human/robot history lol" is just strange. Megatron ended up spending most of the movie a complete pussy, having his strings pulled by some geezer on Cybertron or some shit. I don't want to see that. I want to see Megatron, leader of the Decepticons, calling the shots and killing the AB's. I want to see his rivalry with Optimus Prime like it was in the first movie. In this movie he just takes the sideline.
Worst of all, the humor went down the figurative and literal toilet. The scriptwriting and humor in the first film was like, half the movie's charm. Now it's...jockstraps, robot testicles, and inner city robots? Thanks for nothing.
Additional human characters were pointless, conspiracy room mate dude was annoying as fuck. I liked Simmons this time around, (for the most part, I really did not ever want to see his ass.) they should have just substituted him as "No. 3 human main" from the start. Instead, they tried to fix what wasn't broken.
Yeah, the fight scenes looked and played out wonderfully, especially Optimus's (inconsistent) one man show against 3 Decepticons in the forest. I'll just forget he couldn't even beat Megatron in a 1 on 1 last time.
But cool fight scenes don't equal a good movie.
Best care anywhere.
