Satanism...

Thoughts?
Political agenda: Termination of the myth of equality for all.
Tax all churches.
Remove any religious beliefs which have been incorporated in legislation.
"Development and production of artificial human companions."
The freedom for all to live within a total environment of their choice.
I kinda have mixed feelings about this... As it turns out, they actually don't get along to well with Wiccians.

The bullshit detector is going off. It looks almost as if a Fundie was trying to cast this as the default religion of atheists.

Nitram, this IS a real organization. There's a website, too, and religioustolerance.org seems to be pretty credible.

I need my bullshit detector reset, then.

Nor does it mean allowing religious groups to legislate their beliefs upon others.

I looked into the subject some time ago. Originally, I thought it was pretty cool. Then, that magical thing know as teenage rebellion wore out, and now I think it's just for overly-rebellious atheists who want to feel self-righteous.

Anton LaVey had some good ideas, though.

Cthulhu Fthagn Iä Iä

I don't think it's PC to call a force of nature that is equivalent to love, kindness, and respect, he but it sounds like a neat religion, even if it is utter dionysism, at best epicurianism. At least it finds it sinful to be psuedo-apollonian like Christions are. Seems a bit like male dominant dionysism at that.
Male Satanists generally wear full length black robes, with or without a hood.
Young women generally wear sexually suggestive clothing; older women wear all black.
Sound like it was thought up by an overly modest man who likes to look at good looking women. And it is perpetuating the stereotype of women as being loose and highly sexual if they are in any way free of the constraints of men, which the Bible also supports though it dislikes women like this.
The entire thing seems to be antiChristian for the sake of being antiChristian.

For political agenda, the only ones I object to are the "termination of the myth of 'equality for all'" and "development and production of artificial human companions". The former is against my own political views, and the latter makes it sound like human clones would be property, which is very much against my belief in human rights.

I want to know how Peter Gilmore has been their High Priest since 2001-APR-31. There are only 30 days in April; I was born on April 30.

Overall, while I may disagree with their beliefs, they're really no different from most hedonists. They're just institutionalized hedonists, as far as I'm concerned.

By "Artificial human comanions," I think LaVey was thinking more along the lines of fuck-robots. Aside from that, I agree with you 100%. After all, only hedonists would want to have sex with a painstakingly built and researched "toy" such as a humaniod robot...

That is exactly what I've been saying for years, Anton LaVey was just a dirty old man with a great sense of humor.
You should try reading his "Satanic Bible" some time. It's a hoot!
