I remain in favour of a middle-sized continent popping up somewhere east of Astaria and south of San Marin.

Probably moreso if you knew about him having a threeway with his assistant and some Sirnothi noblewoman.

Shouldn't Langley and Zoria be some kind of 'light red' rather than the red of full CATO members? If the Wiki is at all accurate then they are Observers, not full members. So by using the same logic as making the Vineyards a "MESS satellite" they should be a "CATO satellite".

Once I'm done cleaning up and recoloring the map I might do an 'alliance' one. Probably going to throw in a sample continent just so people can visualize what a new one might look like amongst the rest. Temporary, though.

This is the closest I know:

http://farm4.static.flickr.com/3542/364 ... a183_o.gif

That map still excludes Cascadia's Velerian holdings at Van Halstoff and Welles Island, has Adabani listed as New Olympia, doesn't have Zoria's Port Adria enclave and the Protected Zone for the Malip Muslims of the Dragonsnake River Valley, doesnt' have the Coilerburg-founded "Republic of Nuparadise", and fails to differentiate the Katangwa Free State - a Canissia client state - from Caravoland (the Japanistani-held portion of former al-Akharabat).

Veleria should look like this map:

This is correct, and Miratia should be similarly light red, seeing as how it's not a full member of CATO either. Presumably Cialan might go this way too, but that's still some ways in the hypothetical future.
Steve wrote:...doesnt' have the Coilerburg-founded "Republic of Nuparadise"...
Any mapmakers please disregard the name 'nuparadise' and simply name it 'Paradise Island', for the original name I find silly and would prefer to see cast into the abyssal depths of retconnistan :). Paradise Island is also, as an Overseas Territory, a part of the NFT. Steve's placement is spot on too.

Is Minoy independent? I don't recall seeing anything about them joining the NFT. On the inset map it doesn't have the (NFT) thingy next to it, although on the big map it looks like that area is covered in red, though it is a little hard to tell at that size.

Does that mean we can change Messamerica? It doesn't even really make sense as a continent name. At least the "Old Continent" kinda sorta works to some degree, but Messamerica not so much.

I have a proposal for all of you. Instead of adding a whole new continent and massively disrupting the map, I will add a number of island chains and smaller broken-off island subcontinents around the map. We can say Q Did It, as normal.

Thoughts?

---

Also, yes, change Messamerica's name but let me know what it is. I might suggest the Corporate Continent. ;p

I am in favour of that idea, it looks more natural and does not disrupt things badly. Just try not to make them too cluttered though.

You're right, that's not correct either. As far as I know Minoy is still run by that Gino Weinberg guy. It did not elect to join the NFT (yet ;)), in fact no word has come out of that place in years.

I've been calling it 'Messica' for years, which is marginally better but admittedly still not that great. I'm all for giving the place a proper name myself.

That works for me too. As long as at least some of the islands are larger than our usual atolls, maybe a few approaching Impact Crater Archipelago size (not the size of Shepistan proper exactly, but some of the surrounding islands.)

On that note I would also like to see some Islands in the north, even if they are quite small. I think it would add some interesting potential to the situation there. :)

They'll vary from the size of the North Pacific islands to roughly Astaria-proper in size. That's the goal anyhow.

EDIT: and I will address that, Bluewolf. gotta put a Britain in, after all. ;)

Beowulf, is your operation in Mortimer's claim still in the planning process, or should I consider the strikes to have started?

This certainly makes things more interesting.......

I always wondered if it would ever happen. I would be in favour of this but be careful not to tread on anyone elses toes, so to speak.

Will these islands be deserted or have a magical NPC state?
