Re: SD.Net World Redux Comment Thread VIII
Well potentially, basing on how things will go, I may be another non CATO FASTA contributer, I am not sure though.
Re: SD.Net World Redux Comment Thread VIII
Miratia also contributes to FASTA, and yet is not an (official) member of the combined alliance.

Cialan has had a lot of civil unrest over its history, sometimes leading to violence. Thats kind of why I said that. I should of made it more clear in history.
I mean, its not having a revolution every few years or anything but the country is a bit roudy.
PS: Blood splatter comment was a joke.

So, what ever happened to Shinra and Wilkonia, and Canissia perhaps, acting to temper Tian Xia and the OD to ease CATO-MESS tensions?

Wha? What about Cascadia's Boeing?PeZook wrote:Oh...there's two?Lonestar wrote:Dominion Boeing, Tian Xia Boeing, what?
Your Boeing
Also I don't know if Tian Xia has its own Boeing, it ordered from my Boeing some time ago for tanker aircraft. In fact it's more likely that Boeing is just an international aerospace megacorp HQed in Cascadia but with subsidiary corps in Old Dominion and such.

Ryan, the ELINT plane isnt NFT but UCSR (we don't fly Antonov's with red stars on the side ), and whilst we'd love to be able to have boots on the ground in Fimbulwinter already Fourth Para has to be ferried in from Paradise Island and the Foreign Legion doesn't have orbital insertion capability (yet ). So realistically I think it'll take several days to a week to get those troops deployed on Frequesue, and whilst there's some degree of temporal fluidity inherent in the goings-on not that much time ought to have passed.Ryan Thunder wrote:"Indhopal is threatening Tian Xia with war over this, the NFT is flying ELINT planes nearby to observe the fighting, and the IC tells me that NFTAF is dropping paratroopers to discourage the Texies from getting overly ambitious and carrying on into the Winter Army."

I would like my half of those islands above me please (leave the ones above Vulpsersia). I can't do mcuh with them and it is a fair thing. Its not as if I can do much with them anyway and I don't need to annex territories for them.EDIT: If anybody wants territorial increases (and isn't already an imperium, fer chrissakes) or doesn't want them, let me know.
If anyone has any objections please let me know.
On top of that, as I restated earlier, is my friend allowed to have "Britain"?

Re: SD.Net World Redux Comment Thread VIII
The islands already got moved northward at your -repeated- behest. Regarding England, I must say nein. My prospective plans for the Pacific have all gone down the sheißer, so we're packing up the wagons and moving there at this convenient opportunity. (EDIT: Consider this my fee for redoing the map, guys)
I'm going to be making Britain bigger, though, and putting Ireland in. Also forthcoming are an Iceland, a Greenland, an Atlantis, and a number of other additions and upgrades for the map upgrade. Your buddy would do well to play Vulpesia. Or another part of the British Isles, or perhaps part of the Scandinavian Isles, as the ones north of you are being redone and shaped to roughly imitate Denmark, Finland, Norway, and Sweden.

Re: SD.Net World Redux Comment Thread VIII
OK, Well could you just put some small islands near my postion then. I do admit I was a bit pushy but I would still like to own some of those though. I don't see anything wrong with that, even if they are a bit far noth now.

I don't have an SDN World twitter to keep me updated every minute of every day?Shroom Man 777 wrote:So, what ever happened to Shinra and Wilkonia, and Canissia perhaps, acting to temper Tian Xia and the OD to ease CATO-MESS tensions?
Basically, if Beo discussed this with anybody, I wasn't included. So it's difficult to do something about an event you don't know is even going to happen. That said, I am going to have Rufus Shinra do something. Though I may have to invoke unreal time for it. Or not, if Beo's AIM online status is at all accurate.
Few things just to catch up:
Czech, on the map there is a small strait between Wilkonia and Tonkin. There is no land connection. It's sort of like a natural Panama Canal. Either Wilkens of Phong posted real details on it somewhere, so they have the final word, but I think it's no wider than 24 miles across, just so that both nations have territorial waters split down the middle.
This isn't anything remotely resembling a scale map, but it does show the seperation between the two landmasses. If you zoom in a lot.
Oh, and WesFox is the guy who ran Vulpesia. So you would shoot him a PM if somebody were to take over. Probably not a huge deal as he hasn't done anything with it, but it's a formality I believe we should observe.
Steve, I'll back your Pacific Union, though more as silent support I believe. Your Leftists would probably scream IMPERALISM even louder if a MESS leader supported you openly.
I know there's more but my mind just blanked. *sigh* Oh yeah, on a random note, I believe either Wilkonia itself or the MSA actually supports FASTA to some extent, as Wilkens has said before. I think to keep alive the spirit of competition or something. He can explain it better. But that's definately non-CATO support of FASTA.

Re: SD.Net World Redux Comment Thread VIII
So... yeah. Basically, it was always my intention that Misteria would become a communist country, but real life generally interfered in the slower transitions I had planned. Finally, I basically said "fuck it", and well, here we are.Misteria is now a Communist nation, the United Socialist Republic of the Misterian Isles.
There currently is no single leader of the new nation: right now, it is being controlled by the generals of the army divisions that defected to the Socialist cause, leaders of the revolutionary militias, and former members of the Misterian Socialist Party.
The temporary capital is located in the city of Belapol.
The disorder is beginning to die down, except on the main island, where armed rabble essentially roams freely except in the cities controlled by the army.
Refugees, resistance fighters, and a single loyalist army division are currently holed up in the cities of the Empyrean City Bay Area, and are attempting to organize an evacuation. The communist militias are beginning to close in on the Bay Area.
If this is objectionable for some reason, let me know and I guess I'll retcon it or something. If it isn't, well, awesome.
EDIT: No, I am not Stas in disguise.

Re: SD.Net World Redux Comment Thread VIII
Right now the MSA has a standing budget line item designated as a contingency operations fund which has been designated in advance to maintain FASTA at a budget level considered effective to maintain competition and redundancy. Basically the money is there to make sure someone else can get up to rescue astronauts who may get stranded by an equipment malfunction. While the MSA has the world's most aggresive launch schedule ( essentially 1/mo manned launch) each launch takes too damn long to setup for an emergency somakign sure another agency can get there is useful.RogueIce wrote: Oh yeah, on a random note, I believe either Wilkonia itself or the MSA actually supports FASTA to some extent, as Wilkens has said before. That said the MSA ITSELF has its own funding issues in as much as not all of the member contributions are equal, some nations run programs through their subordinate agencies only. Remeber that MSA is more like the European Space Agency than NASA in that it has constituent organization, such as MSA-Dominion, who operate their own independent program. In turn outside agencies such as Cascadia which is clearly a non-MESS member contributes to the MSA and in turn trains their astronauts through the MSA program and have been in on 3 of the 5 moon landing missions launched so far (counting Daedalus 9 which aborted).
In other words folks outside of CATO and the MESS are funding FASTA and MSA respectively.
