Hey, fuck you. Not my fault if I figured I'd, y'know, play by the rules of the game. :roll:
As I've mentioned before, and as other players have confirmed, the rules ceased to be a part of this game a few years in because they were, essentially, optional. Some players (Shep & Skimmer to be specific) simply chose to calculate their OOB based on research and, lo and behold, the points system proved to be pretty much worthless as anything more than a novelty.

-You- chose to stick to the points system. -You- chose to not bother to look at the OOB of a place like, say, Langley (another Duchy) and see that even the little guys aren't following the points system anymore. -You- are choosing to not accept that you missed the boat until now and figure out how to catch up over the next couple game years. -You- are choosing to be obstinate and annoying and are constantly disrupting my enjoyment of the game with complaints based on your mistaken military.

So, Ryan, I'll repeat myself; catch up or shut up.

EDIT: You know what? I'll even help you do the research to catch up, because then you just might move on and stop being such a godforsaken pest.

Oh, I'm not going to go Shep on 'im, even if his pestering makes me want to. Here's the map, bud.

EDIT: Could we maybe get on-topic about Steve being the mod or not? He can't mod anything if he's not ratified by all the players.

I don't know if I am officially in this yet, or where I am, so I want to toss out a semi completed OOB for my nation.
Let me know if what I have is ok or if I should provide more detail for things,,,
==================

The Incorporated Nation of Crossroadia
Image
(National Seal)

Nation
===========================================
The Incorporated Nation of Crossroadia or (INC) is a Island nation
that straddles a fine line between Liberal foundations and ruthless corporate Capitalism.
Founded by the enigmatic “Jonathon Andrews” the first CEO, it is a nation with eye on
advancement of science and research as well as highly Liberal social climate that fosters
open thinking and new ideas.

===========================================
Government
[edit]
President and Lord CEO
The Nation of Crossroadia has a sort of Duel Leadership. The role of President
is a democratically elected position whose primary purpose is usually diplomatic
and acts on behalf of Crossroadia to other nation. The title of Lord CEO, is
better known to have the true power of the nation and makes most internal
decisions dictating state affairs. The Lord High CEO position, or more commonly
know as “His Lordship” sits on a bored of seven primary advisors, each in charge
of a separate aspect of the nations finances and governance. While the bored
members and the President are elected officials, the title of Lord CEO is more permanent.

Current Sitting Bored members:
General Rupert Plumbean, Military Advisor”
Director Heratio Maglicuty, Internal Security
Professor Theodore Throkmorten Science and Education Advisor
Ambassador Hugo Wizenheimer Crossroadia Liaison”
Vice Manager Walter W. Wonker Economic Advisor”
Captain Fredrick Fandango Naval Advisor”
Mr. Eustace Banks Department of the Interior”

Governoring Capital
For most of the history of Crossroadia, the political capital along with
virtually all political buildings and Offices have been centered within
the primary city of Bishitropolis. Much of the central area of the
city is full of the Neo Gothic Marble buildings that are Iconic to Crossrodia politics.
Image
( Former Council Hall)

Within the past few years however, much of the political councils and
comities have been moved to the upper levels of the newly constructed
CCCT* (see Crossroads Central Control Tower) with most bureaucratic
and staffing facilities remaining in Bishotropolis along with the Presidents Offices.
Image
(Presidential Residence)

===========================================
Geography
Land Area 257,725 km2
Geo History The island nation of Crossroadia once had an Immense
central volcano. Almost 150,000 years ago the central Volcano erupted
in an immense, Mt St.Helens style eruption with much of the Southren
mountain exploding out and falling into the sea. This has left the island
with a large circular caldera where the remains of central core have now
cooled as an island within the island. As a result hot springs abound providing
heat during the summer and geothermal energy.
Climate Wet and rainy weather in summer, heavy snows in winter. Extensive wetlands near the southern coasts. Snow caps on mountains most of the year.

===========================================
Economy
Crossroadia has always had a history of heavy Industry and powerful
Banking and financial empires. This has been changing however as
the Lord CEO has been moving the economy over to a more sustainable
and balanced system.
Within the past 20 years, Crossroadia has seen a complete overhaul of
its industries. Starting over 15 years ago, the government began an
aggressive program to convert the nations automobiles over to full
Electric engines. In the course of this, Crossroadia has since developed
one of the largest Automotive plants in the world, turning out over a
dozen models of fully electric powered vehicles that can be charged
from any conventional power socket.

In terms of visible symbols of industry, Crossroadia’s Airships are
also one of its largest exports. Starting the move toward large
luxurious airship’s Crossroadia has remained a center for Airship
manufacture and innovation.
Image
(One of “AirINC”’s many Airships)

Currently used in not just passenger service but fright and
survaylance as well; the airships have proven themselves resilient
and efficient and the main factories in the city of Toric have
built several variations for both Civilian and Military needs.

Crossroadia’s other primary Industries revolve largely around it’s
massive Financial and Business sector in the capital of Bishitropolis.
Another large but less talked about Industry is Crossroadia’s immense
Porn Production. Based largely in the city of Yaoishima, the city houses
some of the most active Porn studios in the world, producing products
to fit virtually every conceivable vice. Other lesser industries include the
several smaller mining companies that make up Crossroadis’ Aluminum,
Nickel and Uranium industry.

Exports
Aside from manufactured goods such as Electric Cars and Airships,
Crossroadia’s primary Exports are more simple items such as rare
woods and timber, Rice, Fish, and Nickle.

Major Corporations

===========================================
The Crossroads Central Control Tower
(CCCT)

Perhaps one of the most striking features of Crossroadia is the
monolithic new building known simply as the ‘CCCT’. Built as a
prototype ‘acrology’, a self contained enclosed city, it is a stunning
example of Crossroadia’s industrial might. The nearly 800meter
tall Tower houses business, hotels, schools, hospitals, farms,
every aspect of modern life, designed with the idea of sustaining
itself with minimal need for outside resources.
Image
( A diagram of the CCCT )

Since it’s completion, the primary governing body and
members have moved to the uppermost levels of the CCCT
where the Lord CEO currently resides along with the current ruling council.

===========================================
Exports
===========================================
Energy
The natural volcanic elements of the island provide a considerable
amount of natural geothermal Energy to the cities around the
central mountain ring. A series of highly regulated Fission Reactors
provide power to the larger cities.

===========================================
Natural Resources:
Small amounts of uranium. Larger deposits of nickel, iron and
aluminum. Large forests of rare woods. Extensive aquaculture in
coastal waters. Vast fields of staple grains- primarily wheat- cover
the central planes. Herds of wild Bishonen roam the open plains are
often exported for ‘various uses’

===========================================
Demography
Age Structure: 0-14 years: 20%; 14-24 years: 35%;
30-50 years: 30%; 60-80 years: 10%; 80+ years 5%
Life Expectancy at birth: total population: 89; female: 94; male: 85
Nationality: Employee;
Ethnic Groups: white: 25%, black: 15%, Asian: 30%, Latino: 20%
Religions: Government is officially non-committed, however “Pastafarianism” and worship of the Flying Spaghetti Monster are widespread
Languages: Official language is Standard English. Small enclaves of various immigrant tongues exist. Japanese: 9%, Russian: 6%, German: 4%, Spanish: 6%, Chinese (various dialects): 7%
Literacy Rate: total population: 96% (over the age of 10) (mandated by law.)

===========================================
Religion
While the state endorses no religion and generally discourages organized
religions, The Church of the Flying Spaghetti Monster enjoys a
relatively popular following of Crossroadian nationals. Since the church
preaches a primary message of non interferences, it is considered largely
benign by the Political ruling class. Other religions are worshiped freely
in small enclaves, though often monitored by officials.

This is why folks pointed me at the points system when I started and then threw a shit fit when I wanted something as inconsequential as a BCGN, right?

A few quotes from when I joined in. Notice anything?

The GDP limit did not go away; only the points system. Having three carriers for a landlocked nation with a GDP of 400 billion is not really possible as I understand.

GDP limits never went away. In fact Czech is not forced to oblige with the points; but his initial military was just too much for his damn GDP, unless he was in a state of total war...

Heh. Very well. I'm editing things appropriately given that I both have more people and a larger economy than Israel. And my armed forces still aren't anywhere near as big as theirs, according to Czech, either, so anybody who wants to bitch about whether I "built it like the rest of you" or not can kindly fuck off, and that'll be the end of it. :)

I want to clarify; I've been saying the points system is what's no longer of any value or importance. Anyway.

Many of the complaints you raised about the initial military have been fixed. I no longer have -any- nuclear vessels, for starters, and my one 60kt medium carrier is no longer in service, forcing the LVA amphibious-aviation ships to take up the slack until the replacement comes along...in 2018.

It's not like I haven't been drawing stuff back. Three whole cruisers, some eighty bombers, and forty-odd naval aircraft disappeared into the ether recently. :>

Starting GDP of $2,5 trillion, up to 60 million of population. That gives a peak peacetime military budget of around 250 billion (10% of GDP), but you're more likely to have something like 50-60 billion (2-3%) if you're relatively demilitarized. As for resources, you can write that up and check what people need in terms of ore deposits, trade, etc.

Hrm, given the name maybe we should have Crossroads in the "Atlantic" roughly equidistant between the OC, the Crater Archipelago, and America/Messica?

Also, Crossroad, have a version of that map that's just an outline? Plus I'm afraid the one you put up has some white blocks on it that mess it up, at least from how my browser's showing it.

Excellent.

Um, did we ever determine the proper kilometer per pixel scale for the map? IIRC 7km/pixel wasn't quite accurate....

No! No changing of the size! It will blow apart all our space mission planning!

Literally. Launch vehicles and spacecraft would become useless overnight.

When I did the map, the proper scale was 7 kilometers per pixel. Generally, the world has a radius of 3850 kilometers,and the map's scale should reflect that.
