Fucking AWESOME!! Now do one with battle damage!
It's 106 miles to Chicago, we got a full tank of gas, half a pack of cigarettes, it's dark... and we're wearing sunglasses.
Hit it.

Re: Sinanju Project (image heavy!)
Thanks! I still need to throw some highlights on the weaponry, the guns look a bit plastic currently with their airbrushed dk gray. I've probably got another week of work before it's ready for the photoshoot.
Re: Sinanju Project (image heavy!)
I've painted some highlights onto the gun and bazooka to make them look less plastic, and added some more silver details.
Now here's some preview images. Excuse the dust, I didn't brush it off before taking these shots. Here I'm mostly showing off the addon parts. Mechaskunk thrusters, tube beads, model-up verniers, etc. The head vulcans use the socket pins from the model-up foot vernier pins, which worked out really well.
little verniers on the bicep were drilled out and replaced with 1mm tube beads.
Showing off the leg thrusters and bits.
Backpack
Hip thrusters
Some of the inner detail on the wings, and more tube beads, 1mm and 2mm
Rear shot
Ankle. You can kind of see how shiny the black is in contrast here.
I still need to go over the gold once or twice more, it still looks uneven. I'm getting there!

Re: Sinanju Project (image heavy!)
I agree about the gold being uneven. I also noticed that the 10S decals seem to look like they were sprayed on, and have some overspray issues. I'm not sure if this is on purpose, or a side-effect of how you put them on. Or maybe it's just some artifact of the photo.
However: HOLY FUCKING SHIT THAT'S SO FREAKIN' SWEET OMG!!!! is the first thought I had.

The dry transfer decals have some film silvering, moreso that the waterslides. I blame it on the harsh lighting, it's usually not all that visible.Phantasee wrote:I agree about the gold being uneven. Re: Sinanju Project (image heavy!)
Oh man, that is so good. You should totally do a Unicorn Gundam next, so they can face off.
You know, after your Vic Viper.

I'll probably have to. I already have the unicorn display base. Have you seen the number of decals that go on Unicorn though? *cries*Ford Prefect wrote:Oh man, that is so good. You should totally do a Unicorn Gundam next, so they can face off.

Re: Sinanju Project (image heavy!)
That is fucking beautiful. It brings a tear to my eye, truly. So shiny...
The blade on that axe has some crazy reach, though. Hooked up to the shield, it looks like the Halo sword on steroids.

Re: Sinanju Project (image heavy!)
As expected of the descendant of the Sazabi! The MG Sazabi has beam bits for its axe which are about as huge as well.

The lineage of the Sinanju is really interesting.Ford Prefect wrote:As expected of the descendant of the Sazabi! The MG Sazabi has beam bits for its axe which are about as huge as well.
Spiritually, it's a descendant of the Sazabi. Mechanically, it's a Hi Nu Gundam variant. (seriously, the internal skeleton is all but identical, as is the impressive size) Conceptually, it's much like the Gerbera Tetra, being a zeonified version of an Anaheim Electronics testbed gundam.
And despite the amazing engineering, it's one of the most frustrating MG kits I have built to date.

Re: Sinanju Project (image heavy!)
Oh yeah, I know about its (badass) design lineage. Anything less probably couldn't handle the Unicorn.

Re: Sinanju Project (image heavy!)
If you want to get the Unicorn, the titanium finish version is on sale, cheaper than the standard one.
Re: Sinanju Project (image heavy!)
Yeah, I was looking at that, but when I do my Unicorn (about 3 projects down the road) I want to give it an automotive style pearl, so all that would be kind of wasted on me. ^.^Jordie wrote:If you want to get the Unicorn, the titanium finish version is on sale, cheaper than the standard one.
