So I have a crappy Dell Vostro 1500. I say crappy because, since the first day I bought it, it's given me one problem after another. Among its many issues is a widespread and well known audio issue that makes people go mad and post Youtube videos of it. Today I figured what the hell and decided to try and solve it. I followed the instructions from here.
Long story short, I followed those instructions, reassembled it (making sure that all the hardware is properly connected as I went along), and now it's got another... issue. When I hit the power button, the power light comes on (which looks kind of faded, I think), the green rom drive also comes on, but then the whole thing dies. Nothing boots up at all... except I might boot this piece of crap into a dumpster if it looks like I'd have to spend money to repair it or something.
Anyway, any ideas on how to troubleshoot this?
How should I troubleshoot this laptop problem?

Update: I seem to have fixed the issue. I opened it back up, took out the heatsink and reinstalled it. I then did the same with the coin cell battery. I guess that was what it needed because it's back up and running.
