Probably sooner or later. And it'll go because the Chistian god is a concept that makes no real sense.

I'm afraid we'll see it go on much much longer because of its giant support base.

On the contrary, with easy access to correct information, Christianity might die out some time in the future...

I'm rather certain that the vast fundie support base will eventually disintergrate, and then one of two things will happen:

1) Christianity will go the way of the dodo(but not before I die! Bwahaha!)

2) It's entire base will mutuate into moderation and it will cruise along, not as some world-crushing juggernaught, but as a much more liberal and accepting theistic organization.

No. 2 seems more likely.

Well, Constantine did that weird syncretism between the Persian Mithras and Jesus, but just about the only thing I know of to directly come out of that was Christmas, which the Church was dead set against adding until the Emperor ordered them to add the holiday.

On the other hand, the Internet has made the spread of stupidity MUCH easier, so I don't see Christianity dying out anytime in the near future.

It also could get diluted by "cooler", "hipper" stupidities. The internet makes bandwagon fads easier to get into.

I'm going to have to say that we'll just have to wait and see.

Well, faiths seem to exist quite well for millenia. Granted they're eventually marginalized as other faiths show up to supplant the old ones. Secularism will likely continue to increase, further marginalizing Christiantity. But it's likely too big to simply go away and die. What would survive, ultimately, would likely be some fairly open-minded form of Christianity. Increased access to education and increased standards of living will serve to decrease fundamentalism. But it's likely that Christianity will persist for a long time, until it eventually mutates into a form that wouldn't be quite recognizable to us as Christianity.

Yes!

When?
Dunno, but the sooner the better.

Why?
I belief that education will eventualy succeed in ridding humanity of ignorance, gredulity and the quite childish need to cling to these silly phantasies about the supernatural and some tribal god in the sky.

The Greek gods are considered to be myths, some day Yahveh will share their fate. I hope that that day will be tomorrow (fat chance :()

That's what most of the soldiers storming Normandy hoped for. As it turned out, German machine-gun fire did not seem to be affected by their faith in Jesus.

Unfortunately, misinformation is just as easily disseminated.
