Internet browser text sizes

Post by Samuel »

Silly problem, but I screwed up my browser and now everything is displayed in much smaller type. It is a real eyestrain- does anyone know the keys you press to change the size back to normal?

As a general tool, ctrl - and ctrl + (actually ctrl =, but the other way's easier to remember) will change the text size in a browser, and in some cases will zoom pictures and formatting as well, depending on what browser you're using.

Well, actually it is both Ctrl + and Ctrl =, since the = character requires a shift in some non-English keyboards but number pad Ctrl + works with all keyboard layouts. For example my keyboard has a SE/FI layout and the = character comes with Shift 0. If I press Ctrl Shift 0, it does increase the text size, but of course I never use that.

By the way, Firefox 3.x lets you choose whether you want to change just text size or pictures and formatting as well.

My cat has a bad habit of sleeping on the left 'ctrl' sometimes, and when I scroll with the mouse wheel things go silly very quickly :P
