Aargh. Mayor mistake on my part. You are perfectly right. Edit time.

A decision must be made in the life of every nation at the very moment when the grasp of the enemy is at its throat. Then, it seems that the only way to survive is to use the means of the enemy, to rest survival upon what is expedient, to look the other way. Well, the answer to that is 'survival as what'? A country isn't a rock. It's not an extension of one's self. It's what it stands for. It's what it stands for when standing for something is the most difficult! - Chief Judge Haywood

I look forward to signing, also wish more people were interested in this as our Rim friends went away from this thread for quite some time. But I don't mind playing this game slow over the long term unlike the Nova Terra threads which had fifty posts a day some days.

I would prefer a little more activity than this speed has allowed for with this number of people, but if we can increase the numbers than I should be happy. Really what I would hope for is a average of a post or two a day.

My OOB is up and I'll try to get an initial post in either today or tomorrow. Sorry the OOB doesn't have any pictures, I'm posting from a library computer right now due to issues with mine. Also important characters are going to be introduced via IC posts rather then in the OOB as I don't have enough (read any) fluff on them.
Thanks for the invite I look forward to playing with y'all.

Ok, here is my building plan for the first in-game year:
Asset Upkeep:
560 Turbolaser Batteries (/20=28) (280)
280 Ioncannon Batteries (/12=14) (140)
Planetary Shields (200)
Total: 620
/6=103
22 Golan III Stations (308)
11 Golan II Stations (132)
Resupply Base (6)
Total: 446
/4=112
3 Recusant-Class Light Destroyers (24)
3 Providence-Class Destroyer/Carriers (24)
3 Victory-Class Star Destroyers (24)
15 Munificient-Class Frigates (60)
10 Sabre-class Corvettes (20)
Total: 108
/3=36
Total Upkeep: 251
Building:
Initial Avaiable Shipyard Space:
10 200m Shipyards
2 1000m Shipyards
New Ships: (148)
2 Victory Star Destroyers (16)
38 Marauder Corvettes (76)
20 Hardcell Corvettes (40)
2 Providence-Class Destroyer/Carriers (16)
New Shipyards (1120)
10 500m Shipyards (1 at each Habitat) (900)
2 800m Shipyards at Vulpter (220)
New Buildings (448)
8x20 Turbolaser Batteries (1 set at each Colony) (80)
8 Golan II Stations (1 at each Colony) (96)
8 Golan III Stations (1 at each Colony) (112)
8 Planetary Shields (1 at each Colony) (160)
Research:
I will research a new ship type. Estaminated research time is two years, research cost is 32 points.
Here is a monthly breakdown:
Month 4: 10 Marauder Corvettes
Month 5: 160 Defense Turbolasers Batteries
Month 6: 8 Planetary Shields, 10 500m Shipyards
Start Construction of 20 Hardcell Corvettes
Month 8: 2 800m Shipyards, 10 Marauder Corvettes
Start Construction of 8 Marauder Corvettes (16)
Month 10: 20 Hardcell Corvettes, 2 Victory Star Destroyers, 8 Golan II Stations
Start Construction of 2 Providence-Class Destroyer/Carriers (16)
Month 12: 18 Marauder Corvettes, 8 Golan III Stations
Edit note:
I changed this buidlup plan roughly 24 hours after posting it. I removed the defense ion cannons and all starfighters from the building plan, and added new capships, which will be built once myy new shipyards are finished.

Research:
I will research a new ship type. Estaminated research time is two years, research cost is 32 points.
Total: 1999 points.
Name: Hexatredral Light Assault Carrier
Faction: Cultural union (Serafina) only
Length: 400m
Building time: 6 monts
Cost: 4 points
Armament: 6 MTL single barrel, 24 Ion cannons (supercharged close range)
Fighter complement: 48 Fighters (Tri-Droid and bombers)
Consumables: 3 months
Role: Close-range assault, carrier
In battle, this ship will get close to the enemy ship, blasting its shields with its ion cannons. After the shields fail, its fighter/bomber complement will blast vulnerable systems, crippling the enemy ship. It is intended to be used with other ships for cover in larger fleet engagements, as it needs to get close to the enemy. On its own, it mainly relies on its fighters to protect itself. It is fully automated. However, it only carries maintenance droids, making it useless as a troop transport.

Month 5: 160 Defense Turbolasers Batteries

Great. Ah, is there an official map floating around? I don't see one in the IC or OOB threads, and 30 pages is a lot of OOC to sift through...
Re: SDN Wars: A Galaxy Divided: OOC
No, there is not. You'll have to take a look at who owns what (which is written in the OOB thread).

1 week = 1 month. However, due to us currently holding a conference, this ratio got skewed somewhat.Kartr_Kana wrote:What's the Real World time to Game World time ratio?
For starfighter research the same principles apply as for designing new ships:Agent Sorchus wrote:Are there any guidelines for starfighter research or rates of production for the like?
of course, 8x the worth would be the cost of a wing, not of a single fighter.B) Designing new ships
- All proposals of new ship designs must be approved by the mods.
- Designing a new ship type may not results in anyship stronger/faster/cheaper than 20% of A comparable standard design.
- Designing a new ship costs 8x the worth of that shipclass. With ships smaller or cruiser-sized, the minimum design time is 2 years. With ships larger than cruiser class, the minimum design time is 2x the build time but at least 3 years. Treat Fighter designs or redesigns as 'smaller than cruiser sized'.
As for production lines, there is no limit - but we ask you to be reasonable. For example, it is really unrealistic that in one year you can double the size of your fighter forces.
