The best cure for motion sickness is immersion in the game, almost a Zen-like state of involvement with the console. When I play Halo3 or Call of Duty, my focus is on the screen and the controller; my other sensations sorta fade into the background, and I don't pay any attention to them. It's the same technique I use when performing aerobatics in a plane; focus on the controls and visual references, and not the world spinning around you.
Stark and Havok play a lot more console and online games than I do; they may have better tips.

The best cure for motion sickness is to not play the game. Some people just get fucked up by independent cameras. My girlfriend can't even watch me play Halo, and a 3rd person game like Gears can be tolerated for a while before it starts to bug her.

The only 'tip' for motion sickness I got is 'be genetically superior and not suffer from it'. I never get motion sickness. The closest I get is when I'm splitscreening and my gf is swinging her camera around wildly; having an erratically-moving perspective next to mine is annoying as hell, but it's more vertigo than motion-sickness.

Yeah, l remember actually being a little surprised that people could actually feel motion sickness from playing a computer game (largely because there's no actual motion, so it doesn't make intuitive sense to me).
Anywho, l do like the Wii. Partly from the fact that the thing is the first games console l've had, but also some of the motion control stuff. From what l gather it's the "hardcore" games developers who have trouble, barely eeking by with their sales (though l'm sure part of this is that their games, the likes of House of the Dead: Overkill, the Conduit and MadWorld, aren't supermegaawesome as they'd like you to believe).
Funnily enough, some of the most fun l've had on my Wii have been from Little Kings Story and Super Smash Bros, neither do anything special with the controller.

Six Cogs of Conflict will have vision-modes, of course. The default vision mode will be 'can't see snipers too good'.

Regarding replacement/refurbed X-Box 360's how can you tell what you get back?
My original Xbox red ringed and I sent i back, it still had about 4 months left on the 3 year warranty. I was told that it wasn't repairable but was replaced. Now unlike my old one, the sticker on the back doesn't have a manufacturing date but something else that I can't remember at the moment, perhaps a serial number. Will this be a refurb or completely new Xbox, or is there no way to tell.

I noted my serial every time I sent mine away, I got a replacement the first time and then I think it was just 'repaired'. If you get an older (ie, 203W) one back, it's almost certianly a refurb.

Anyway, warranty replacement is free and costs MS money. Where's the downside? The first 2 were store warranty over-the-counter jobs. I'm not seeing how reliability problems make the whole format worthless.
