Where was the conservative backlash over this?

Oh christ..(no pun intended), I remember seeing that whole film and thinking that was just downright bloody spooky. There's almost as much, if not more indoctrination in there as there was in the Hitlerjugend I would say, although the ones in Jesus Camp aren't parading round with SA analogues smashing up shop windows....yet.

Not as of yet, even though the lady running the camp had radical Islam in open admiration; if only she could turn her kids into soldiers for Christ, willing to fight and die and sacrifice themselves. They are EXACTLY the sorts that would go around smashing the windows of non-Christians if they had the opportunity to do so... while worshipping a cardboard cut out of George Bush.

Truly, there are some of these documentaries where you feel that the maker is exaggerating things about the subject they are covering, but this one didn't need that. The woman running that camp basically did the film makers job for him.

I've been running into this one the last few days. This crap from the right is starting to get really lame - not that it hasn't been from the get-go, but really, when the hell are they going to stop this petty garbage?

So the President wants to talk to the kids - why is that a problem?

It is a whole new level; I'm hoping that the "candle that burns twice as bright" metaphor will be realised through simple burnout on this kind of shitty behavior...there's a shitload of morons out there to willingly suckle at this carbuncle, but the Malkin/Limbaugh/Beck type imbeciles are really playing too fast and too loose.

I more than suspect the speech to be tame to the extreme given Obama's approach to most recent political activities. I do not however, see any reason that the text of the speech should be so closely guarded that it can't be given out beforehand to allow parents to make rational decisions and not go off the handle about the President giving a mysterious speech aimed at their kids.

Is it so unquestionable to want to know the content of a speech that is going to be given and aimed at your children?

I think it's pretty standard isn't it? There are alot of folks of this crowd who pull their kids out of school because they believe schools are evil liberal indoctrination centers who teach their kids things like sex ed or evolution and don't even make the poor dears have teacher lead prayer in the class room. Hence alot of homeschoolers.

Is it surprising that they don't want an Evil Socialist President giving a speech to their kids, telling them the standard boilerplate stuff that politicians do inevitably when they talk to children, like work hard in school and you are our future... and telling other Evil Socialist things like turnout out lights when they leave a room, if Krausers rant is any indication.

Of course, I could be wrong and they could be right and Obama will attempt to use this to start up a Obama-Jugend organization to spy on their God Fearing conservative Terrorist* parents and speak Socialist lies like how all of them should have health care and stuff.
