Excellent. So instead of getting sucked into Seventh Day Adventist hell, he rescued her from it?
Speaking as someone who has been through te SDA experience, I am glad to hear this.
Especially if the parents are bigoted, which goes against what they pretend to teach...

Good luck to those two. 8)

I worked my way through school, thanks to UW's co-op education program where you take every other semester off to get work (but there's no summer vacation; you're either in school or at work year-round).

It's a good experience. Builds character.
*chuckle* You sound like my dad. Everything sucky either builds character or puts hair on your chest. I kept telling him that I didn't want hair on my chest, but I still ended up doing all the sucky things.... At one time I had 4 (count 'em, f-o-u-r) jobs so I could pay to go to school and live and stuff. Bleh. I do have an amazing amount of character now, though, to show for it. :D

Congrats to the couple, btw! Yay, happy happy! No more SDA wedding!!

I am a dad. Happens to most of us guys sooner or later :)

A woman with hair on her chest would be somewhat uncool.

Well, there ya go. Dad was right :)

I shudder to think of what an SDA wedding would be like. I picture it being something like the scene in Starship Troopers where the giant bug stabbed the poor bastard and sucked his brains out.

I have seen *several* SDA weddings. Nothing to write home about...

Unless your name is Gavin Darklighter, then the thought of a Female Bothans hairy chest is something of a turn on.

Now to get her to realize that Starwars is better then Startrek is still going to take some time....
Hey, that's great news! Cool that they pledge themselves to each other first, and leave God out of the decision.
Note: I'm semi-retired from the board, so if you need something, please be patient.
