Agent Sorchus wrote:And last, Thanas when you changed the ship list you changed the size on the Liberator cruiser and eliminated the troop capacity. Also in general the lists for non imperial vessels almost entirely lack ground troop capacity. This peeves me, because I was relying upon the ability of the Liberators to transport troops and I happen to be one of only two users of the liberator in the game. Now I don't mind the change to wookieepedia's standard in size, so long as I can keep the troop capacity that goes with the entry. What I would be happy with is:
Liberator
800m 11000 troops (three short regiments) 72 fighters and the ability to not run screaming from most ships in the cruiser class, while a dreadnaught can make them break off.

Now I know that what we want and what we get are not the same, but with the lack of any troop transport capacity in non imperial ships I feel that your limiting of this one ship was a bad judgment. Note: wookieepedia does not actually have a source for the ships size that is good, I own and still play Rebellion and nothing in that game should be treated as scaled properly.
So do I. But, here is the kicker - you want a ship that has more troops than the ISD, carries the same amount of fighters (but in general better ones) and the ability to go toe to toe with heavy cruisers, only having to flee from Star Dreadnoughts? In short, you want an ISD on a ship that is described as being diminuitive sized even in Rebellion. Even in an 800m ship (nevermind that diminuitive is certainly not something that would approach 800m) that would be excessive. I would have to enlarge that ship at least up to 1400 meters and raise the point cost to 11 points - at least. Or the ship would stay 800m but would be very thin-hulled and very weakly-shielded.

If you need space to transport troops cheap, buy a Star Galleon. They can carry troops. Unless you want an Assault carrier role (in which case the Liberator is even more preposterous), in which case I would advise you to built a few Acclamators. Or you could built a couple of CC-9600 Frigates - they carry 10000 troops each.

As the change probably caught you unaware, I would be willing to retroactively allow you to change your OOB.

Okay, I misremembered the numbers of troops on a Star Destroyer, I was thinking a ISDmk1 had 16000 troops. Sorry. 6500 troops is more reasonable.

Note the bolded section changes it from being ridiculous to being rather resonable, a Dreadnaught Heavy cruiser that costs 6pts not a mother fucking Executor Star Dreadnought. I know the two words look similar but the misspelling happens to be a valid ship class in star wars.

So what I am imaging is a vessel with extremely limited point defense, a couple of big guns and a roll closer to a assault ship that carries star fighters to cover the landings. Not a freaking Star Destroyer light. But not something that can be out fought by a Carrack class light cruiser.

Sorry for the misunderstanding, If you would read the description under the Liberator - it says several heavy Turbolaser batteries and Ion cannons. That is heavier armament than the Carrack class already, which carries 10 HTL but a very small HTL caliber and screening ship. So yeah, as far as I am concerned, it can outfight a Carrack class cruiser already.

Okay Thanas, I'll change my OoB. Eliminating 3 Liberators for 5 CC-9600's and changing out the Liberator that is under construction to be an Acclamator. I am also going to restructure the OOB post to look less hideous, eventually. Are we good with that? (Though looking at my spreadsheet I notice that I have 4 squadrons of fighters on the Dauntless Class heavy cruisers, in accordance with Star wars rebellions stats. Does this need to change?)

My first year Research project (16pts), the Accipiter Onslaught fighter. 3 Heavy lasers 2 concussion missile launchers with up to 4 missiles each. Class 2.5 hyperdrive, may use missile stores for fuel stowage to improve it's feeble hyperdrive range. Good Sensors, sub par maneuverability, Average shields.

Goal is to produce a fighter with little deck space that will be suitable in ten years to become the TSAB's standard fighter. 2 versions are planned, one as viewed above is the carrier model, the garrison model rotates the wing setup 90 degrees (guns remain in same relative position though) so that the fighter can land on areas that have less preparation than a carrier deck.

Well, as these are your original Dauntless, you might just as well keep them and chalk them up as somewhat modified ships.

Just on a quick thing:

I still have 100 points from trade pacts left this year.
I am going to spend them on the following:

15 points on a secret research project (will be revealed in IC, is known to the mods).
25 points to construct a Holonet Station at Vulper
6 points to raise two Droid Infantry Reserve divisions on, they are split by brigades, every Colony gets one.
30 points to raise one Droid Infantry Reserve division on each Minor World
24 points to raise eight Droid Infantry Reserve divisions on Vulpter, those will be stationed at my Colonies, but "belong" to Vulpter.
10 points (or more, if i forgot any trade pacts) will be left over for next year.

I understood it that i got an "OK" from the mods for this. I may be wrong, so correct me if i am.

It was on the early ship lists, and remained here as an artifact that was not eliminated. The model (below) was the original prototype for the Imperial Star Destroyer made for A New Hope. It was named in the fandom for the modeler Colin Cantwell. The fandom postulated it as a precursor to the Victory Stardestroyer. I actually liked how it looks.
Site I got the picture from.
Image
It is perfectly alright with me if they go, I only used them due to their size (750m, from my notes; 8pts) fitting into my remaining ship yard for the year.

Since Interdictors have been allowed for all factions in the newest list I will replace both Cantwells with Interdictors (5pts).
New Total Remaining: 154?
Addendum: the Cantwell model is also viewable on Curtis Saxton's site, under Laser-disk bonus as the fifteenth picture down. The Picture above is far better quality though.

Can't replace them with Victories, the specific yards are 800m and Victories are 900m Beasts. It is a bit of over kill to build Interdictors in 800m yards, but it is better than nothing.

Sorchus: Apologies for the delay. Nysacia has a serious cultural aversion to droid soldiers (they got raeped by the Seps during the CW) but would be more than willing to trade for almost anything else. I can offer standard NR hardware that's not proprietary Mon Cal stuff, plus Nysacia has excellent rejuvination (anti-aging) equipment to sell now that there's no galactic superpower saying they can't.

There's always foodstuffs, raw materials and consumer goods in general, too.

Also, a quick announcement:

As we are nearing the end of our first gameyear, I am ready to approve your budgets for the next year. Please PM me them as soon as they are ready.

NOTE: This is not supposed to be a slave-ship. I am perfectly willing to approve budgets even a few months into the game. Submit them whenever you are ready.

I want some good guide lines for Balmorran War Droids. They most certainly do not fit as a normal droid army and I feel uncomfortable judging what the should be. I am using X1 Vipers as my heavy Division in place of AT-ATs. I am just totally uncertain on how to have SD9 or 10 wardroids.

To be honest, we have not really gotten around to ground combat yet. For balancing reasons, we will most likely value them at pure point value. So regard them as pure fluff.

I Discovered another error in my purchases this year; if I purchase 2 research stations that would put me over the limit of one per major world or greater. As such I am going to simple excise them from the list. New total stashed 174pts. Nothing Else changes.

Darth Raptor: Consider the trade offer as that of standard goods and raw materials then.

Ok, so real life was getting the best of me for a bit. Still able to log on but I was having to skim stuff as I was pressed for time. Anyone trying to send me diplomatic contacts shoot me a PM so we can work out a post over that, rather than back and forth (so we can have our Unreal Time in one nice big lump :D ).

Well, new storypost finished. Also, setting the stage for the next one. I am not so happy with this one - major writer's block.

In any case, I'll next write Kartr_Kana's prize - he was the only one who guess the identities. Thus, expect a glowing HoloNet announcement.

A decision must be made in the life of every nation at the very moment when the grasp of the enemy is at its throat. Then, it seems that the only way to survive is to use the means of the enemy, to rest survival upon what is expedient, to look the other way. Well, the answer to that is 'survival as what'? A country isn't a rock. It's not an extension of one's self. It's what it stands for. It's what it stands for when standing for something is the most difficult! - Chief Judge Haywood
