Someone tell me if Order of War is any good.
I tried the demo and didn't know what to think. It seemed like it had the makings a good strat game but it also seemed patronizingly simple. It's been out in Europe for days and it came out in Amerika today. So how's it look? Does the demo fail to do the game justice or is the game really just nothing special?
Best care anywhere.

I'm really hoping the game isn't just "place units here" or "spam teh tankz" as it goes along. A lot of the early reviews are criticizing it for simplicity, but WiC seemed really simple at first too.
Best care anywhere.

Unfortunately, the demo suggests the reviews might be right. 'Line up tanks, shoot for 10s, win'. WiC's demo highlighted it's 'killer features' like TA, whereas the OoW demo highlighted the static combat and messy interface.

Okay, I've played a bit of SP.
It's ugly as shit, even on highest, with no graphical details (the guns on tanks do not incline to point at targets), vehicles and infantry all move the same way (on an obvious hexmap), you can't interact with woods/fences/buildings at all, there's only one resource delivered over time DoW style, and the game is very slow, static and non-interactive.
Unless there's something I'm missing it's just like the demo. Tanks don't even have MGs, but light tanks are a passable all-round unit. It's a very strange game.

It sounds like shit, I might as well save my money for Flashpoint.
The tank guns dont even move? So that's where the Sins devs have been these days!

I can't over-emphasise how shit it looks. Not all RTS games need to be as pretty as WiC, but OoW is hideous, even on the highest possible settings. Everything from the models to the textures to the lazy effects is horrid. The non-dynamic combat just rubs it in.
Going by the SP, I'm not sure the game is even finished. It really looks like they got to beta and said 'fuck it, this sucks, ship it now and forget about it'.
On inclines, tank guns point straight ahead, to shoot either the sky on the dirt. I'm not sure if height even provides any advantage.
