Favorite Warner characters and why?
been discussing old WB cartoons, and jokes that even adults can appreciate.
Well of the Classic Genre my favorite is Marvin, since I've often been surrounded by annoying "earth creatures" and feel a bit of an outsider. That and that way he talks just cracks me up. Of the more recent I've been compared to the Brain more times then I remember, and I do like the character for the classic radio drama appeal. (yes, Orson Welles lived on in that little mouse with a big head.)

Yakko is my favorite of the Warners.
Pinky and The Brain are also up there, but you have to count them as a single unit.

I like the old Buggs Bunny, that was more of a condescending, sarcastic prick. I'm not sure when exactly they changed him.

Daffy Duck, definitely. Especially when he was more...daffy.
To this day, whenever someone opens or pours a bottle of wine I remember "Daffy Dilly" (at 3:35) and must imitate the pouring and drinking sounds of the glass.

The Warner Trio, Bugs Bunny, Foghorn Leghorn, Dodo, Daffy Duck, Tasmanian Devil, The Tiny Toons version of Daffy, Speedy Gonzales, Wile E. Coyote, Yosemite Sam, Pepe Le Pew. There's more but I'm too tired to think right.

Actually, one time Bugs was in a cartoon drawn by Elmer Fudd. The Bunny never stood a chance.

That was just an inferior retread of Duck Amok though.Gandalf wrote:Actually, one time Bugs was in a cartoon drawn by Elmer Fudd. The Bunny never stood a chance.
On topic: well if Batman counts, I'm saying Freakazoid. I'm a little less sure if it has to be one of the "classic" characters. Wile E. Coyote, Taz, and Daffy are probably the top contenders for my pick there.

Re: Favorite Warner characters and why?
For me it's got to be Marvin the Martian.
Why?
Because for him there is no such thing as going too far.
The term "overkill" isn't in his vocabulary.
He was going to blow up the Earth because it blocked his view of Venus.
Sure, he could have just jumped into his flying saucer and flown around the Earth to get a better view, but fuck that shit.
You don't tell him where to be.
He tells you to beware.
Hell, look at what he did to Planet X.
