Fallen Earth

Post by Quetzalcoatl »

From everything I have heard second-hand and read this MMO has been a complete crock of shit. I was hoping to give a trial, since I am a sucker for post-apocalyptic games, but they don't seem to have put a system in place yet. Can anyway confirm/deny my suspicions?

I haven't played it myself, but the Something Awful goons seem to be enjoying themselves. Of course, that doesn't mean much since they really enjoyed WURM online, but it's a sign it might have promise. Also, they're pretty much ruling the roost right now, I think.

Yep, and from Goonsquad in WoW, and a fair few other games. I don't know what Eleas's issue with them is, though - maybe he fell for the old 'millions of ISK to join Goonswarm' con.

I dunno, am I still within the "not a necro" deadline?

Has anyone here actually played this game? Their website makes it look intriguing (duh, that's what it's supposed to do!) but I've yet to run across someone who has actually played it.

I played the open beta in August for thirty minutes or so, and I wasn't terribly impressed. I loved the idea for the setting, as I'm a fan of post apocalyptic games and Fallen Earth certainly does a good job of portraying that (from what I was able to see of the game world), but the combat wasn't that great (although you can aim as though in an actual FPS) - it was quite laggy, and the weapons felt odd. I, too, would be very curious to read impressions from someone on the forum who has played the retail version, and presumably played the game longer than I have.
