Collection of Scary Right-Wing Quotes/Events
Rush Limbaugh: "I tell people don’t kill all the liberals. Leave enough so we can have two on every campus -- living fossils -- so we will never forget what these people stood for."
Ann Coulter: "This free speech thing is a canard. ... How about not letting traitors teach at universities? Yes, I realize I've just proposed firing the entire Harvard faculty. These institutions can be shaken -- look at Dan Rather. He's out. Or, as I look at it, one down, two to go. We're going to need a much bigger trophy case for all these stuffed heads."
Melanie Morgan: "I would have no problem with [New York Times editor Bill Keller] being sent to the gas chamber."
Melanie Morgan: "A great deal of good could be done by arresting Bill Keller having him lined up against the wall and shot."
Lee Rogers: "[T]he day will come when unpleasant things are going to happen to a bunch of stupid liberals and it's going to be very amusing to watch."
RedState contributor Thomas Crown:
I repeat: Should the entire American Left fall over dead tomorrow, I would rejoice, and order pizza to celebrate. They are not my countrymen; they are animals who happen to walk upright and make noises that approximate speech. They are below human. I look forward to seeing each and every one in Hell.
Ann Coulter:
"My only regret with Timothy McVeigh is he did not go to the New York Times Building."
"We need to execute people like John Walker in order to physically intimidate liberals, by making them realize that they can be killed too."
"They are either traitors or idiots, and on the matter of America’s self-preservation, the difference is irrelevant. Fifty years of treason hasn’t slowed them down."
"We should invade their countries, kill their leaders and convert them to Christianity."
"God said ... rape the planet -- it's yours. That's our job: drilling, mining and striping. Sweaters are the anti-Biblical view. Big gas-guzzling cars with phones and CD players and wet bars -- that's the Biblical view."
"I have to say I'm all for public flogging."
"I think [women] should be armed but should not [be allowed to] vote."
"Liberals hate America, they hate flag-wavers, they hate abortion opponents, they hate all religions except Islam, post 9/11. Even Islamic terrorists don't hate America like liberals do. They don't have the energy. If they had that much energy, they'd have indoor plumbing by now."
"My libertarian friends are probably getting a little upset now but I think that's because they never appreciate the benefits of local fascism."
"In this recurring nightmare of a presidency, we have a national debate about whether he [Clinton] 'did it,' even though all sentient people know he did. Otherwise there would be debates only about whether to impeach or assassinate."
Rep. Peter King:
And Joe Wilson has no right to complain. And I think people like Tim Russert and the others, who gave this guy such a free ride and all the media, they're the ones to be shot, not Karl Rove.
Michael Reagan: "Howard Dean should be arrested and hung for treason or put in a hole until the end of the Iraq war!"
Ann Coulter:
Patriotic Americans don't have to become dangerous psychotics like liberals, but they could at least act like men.
Why hasn't the former spokesman for the Taliban matriculating at Yale been beaten even more senseless than he already is? According to Hollywood, this nation is a cauldron of ethnic hatreds positively brimming with violent skinheads. Where are the skinheads when you need them? What does a girl have to do to get an angry, club- and torch-wielding mob on its feet?
Melanie Morgan: "We've got a bull's-eye painted on [Nancy Pelosi's] big, wide laughing eyes."
Glenn Beck:
All you Muslims who have sat on your frickin' hands the whole time and have not been marching in the streets and have not been saying, 'Hey, you know what? There are good Muslims and bad Muslims. We need to be the first ones in the recruitment office lining up to shoot the bad Muslims in the head.' I'm telling you, with God as my witness... human beings are not strong enough, unfortunately, to restrain themselves from putting up razor wire and putting you on one side of it. When things -- when people become hungry, when people see that their way of life is on the edge of being over, they will put razor wire up and just based on the way you look or just based on your religion, they will round you up. Is that wrong? Oh my gosh, it is Nazi, World War II wrong, but society has proved it time and time again: It will happen.
just a few bad apples.
none of this is systemic or signs of a deeper problem.

Re: republicans.txt
Why did I just bring up all these batshit crazy quotes from 'a few bad apples' who just happen to be prominent GOP spokesmen and influential conservative speakers.
Because this culture of violent rhetoric leads to shit like this:
Knoxville Unitarian Universalist church shooting (27 Jul. 2008): Jim David Adkisson fires a 12-gauge shotgun at congregant of a Knoxville, TN Unitarian Church and kills two people. According to an affadavit signed by on of the shooter's interviewing officers: "Adkisson stated that he had targeted the church because of its liberal teachings and his belief that all liberals should be killed because they were ruining the country."
Pittsburgh police shootings (4 Apr. 2009): 22-year-old white supremacist Richard Poplawski shoots and kills 3 police officers in the Stanton Heights neighborhood of Pittsburgh. One of his friends will later say that Poplawski feared "the Obama gun ban that's on the way" and another claimed that he thought Obama was going to infringe on his Constitutional rights.
Okaloosa County officer killings (25 Apr. 2009): 28-year-old U.S. Army Reserve soldier Joshua Cartwright kills two sheriff's deputies in Crestview, FL after being pursued by law enforcement for allegedly beating up his wife. According to an incident report:
Assassination of George Tiller (31 May 2009): Anti-abortion "activist" Scott Roeder kills OB-GYN Dr. George Tiller by shooting him at point blank range in the head while he is in church.
Census Worker's Body Found (12 Sep. 2009): The body of part-time Census worker Bill Sparkman is found in Clay County, KY with the word "fed" scrawled on his chest. The possibility that Sparkman was killed by an anti-government extremist is made more likely by the fact that right-wingers and militia-type groups have been spreading paranoia about the Census ever since Obama was elected.
If you're spreading these outright violent messages (look at the images I posted), you cannot be surprised when somebody decides to act on those messages.
No fucking wonder the USSS is having trouble with the volume to death threats against President Obama.

I'm having trouble reconciling Ann Coulter saying "I think [women] should be armed but should not [be allowed to] vote." with reality.

Re: republicans.txt
Wow, you can totally envision these guys fantasizing about how they would oppress, persecute, torture, and kill their opponents if only they had the power, can't you?
This depth of frustrated rage at their political opponents would be kind of amusing* and pathetic if people like this didn't have disturbing amounts of actual power. These kinds of sentiments are exactly what drove movements like fascism.
*In a way it's kind of satisfying to read because this kind of rage speaks to me of people who are frustrated and scared because they're losing. Their whole retarded bigoted culture is slowly dying out and they know it and it frightens and enrages them. I take considerable pleasure in the fear I sense behind that hate.

Conservatives may fear Obama because he is a SOCIALIST(seriously this reminds me of McCarthy's witch-hunts), but for goodness sake, they aren't racist.

Sometimes I really wonder what makes these people tick. How in the fuck do you create such a hatred in a civilized nation.. You don't really have that much wrong in the US that can fuel such hatred.. I really don't get how USA can bring up such a large number of absolute fucktards.
I'm just very thankfull that we don't have that kind of extreemism in my country. We have our fair share of stupid and annoying people but no one that even comes close to anyone noted in this thread.

You don't have the same public acceptance of that kind of extremism, but don't delude yourself that such extremism doesn't exist. We have it; you guys are a bit more isolationist, and I know for a fact that you're slightly to the right of us today, as well. It would be astounding if similar words weren't being spoken among right-wingers in your nation right this moment.Dralan wrote:Sometimes I really wonder what makes these people tick. Re: Collection of Scary Right-Wing Quotes/Events
Found a bunch more gems from Coulter. It's... actually rather disgusting.
"I think there should be a literacy test and a poll tax for people to vote."
"The FBI allowed thousands of Americans [in the WTC] to be slaughtered on the altar of political correctness. What more do liberals want?"
"Women -- and I don't mean to limit that to the biological sense -- always become hysterical at the first sign of trouble. They have no capacity to solve problems, so instead they fret. But despite the fearful fifth columnists whiling away the war naysaying America's response, we will win this war."
"God gave us the earth. We have dominion over the plants, the animals, the trees. God said, 'Earth is yours. Take it. Rape it. It's yours." (at least she's consistent)
"No matter what defeatist tack liberals take, real Americans are behind our troops 100 percent, behind John Ashcroft 100 percent, behind locking up suspected terrorists 100 percent, behind surveillance of Arabs 100 percent."
"The presumption of innocence only means you don't go right to jail."
"People like you caused us to lose that war." Spoken to a crippled Vietnam veteran.
"A cruise missile is more important than Head Start."

* "Cap and trade is another form of the carbon tax which will ruin our economy and make fossil fuels more expensive. Both McCain and Obama support it, which means gas prices will skyrocket when one of them takes office."
* "Even the Frankenstein Monster understands 'High taxes bad, low taxes good!' The government should stop raising taxes and just control what they spend instead."
"It's you Americans. There's something about nipples you hate. If this were Germany, we'd be romping around naked on the stage here."

I'm not sure if this qualifies, since this was so far "out there" that the Right denounced his actions.
The 2009 Holocaust Shooting by an 88 year-old white supremacist.
And right wing groups are somehow NOT a threat??
BTW, I'd like to thank you for starting this thread. I was having a web-chat this morning w/ a friend who was pulling the whole "The Left is just as crazy/angry/militant" as the Right is. I showed him some of these and said "No matter how angry the left is getting, the Right still has them beat in body count."

I have a suspicion about what's behind these sentiments. I already touched on it in a previous post in this thread.Dralan wrote:Sometimes I really wonder what makes these people tick. The far right basically consists of people who hate the sociological trends of modernity. They want to return America/the world to some imagined "good old days" before the New Deal and the social movements of the 1960s happened and everything turned to shit. And if they can't turn back the clock they certainly at least want it to stop going forward. The problem with this is forces they're fighting have centuries of inertia behind them and are succeeding for a good reason: they lead to a society that is much more pleasant to live in than the shitholes that are the historical norm and that the "good old days" crowd would have us go back to (whether they admit it or not), so people tend to like them. In other words they're blowing against the winds of history, unless they can somehow pull off or take advantage of a reverse of social trends with centuries of momentum behind them they're going to lose, and deep down they know it. They know the whole retarded bigoted culture they cherish is going down the drain, that the future belongs to their ideological enemies, and unsurprisingly this scares them, and from that fear comes desperation and hate. Like I said, a part of me actually takes pleasure in reading this statements because in them I smell the delicious scent of conservatard desperation. I suspect they're masturbating over murderous fantasies of being able to crush their ideological enemies with violence in part because at this point being able to enforce their ideology at the point of gun, trutcheon, and boot-heel may very well be their best bet for halting their inexorable slide into extinction and on some level some of them must realize that. Not that they'd probably be able to do more than delay the inevitable even if they got to have a dictatorship where they get to summarily imprison, torture, and murder anybody they don't like and walk around San Francisco in black shirts with trutcheons cracking some heads. The social trends they're fighting are probably too powerful to be stopped even by such an obstacle.
Ironically I suspect the same basic desperation is present in Muslim fundamentalists, and it's really not surprising if you think about it. Muslim fundamentalists and American relright-conservatards are basically just two fingers of the zombie corpse of the Dark Ages reaching forth its withered hands to drag down the present after all. It's actually hilarious how much they hate each other when they're basically just two heads of the same beast.
In a way I feel sorry for them. In a way they are facing cultural genocide. I have no problem with that, in fact their pile of shit culture can't die fast enough for me and if it died tomorrow I would dance, sing, and piss on its grave with great joy, but I would not want to be in their shoes.

Does anyone remember the one where Bill O'Reilly said he'd use violence against a liberal if it was legally permissible?

Yeah, we had talked about this before, despite the hatred they held toward each other, they have really no differences in mindset, except external appearances, AKA marketing.Ironically I suspect the same basic desperation is present in Muslim fundamentalists, and it's really not surprising if you think about it. A quick perusal of the original thread revealed no such evidence. Denounced by the GOP and hating the GOP means zero, nada, nothing in regards to being a right winger. Unless you now wish to argue all Tea Bagger groups are now not conservatives, because they are after their GOP overlords.CaptainChewbacca wrote:Yeah, that guy was discussed on this board. As a quick aside...
What the fuck is up with all the watermelons? (and the other food on the food stamp thing, other than fried chicken)
Is it implied that watermelons are somehow in the realm of poor blacks or something?

Watermelons are associated with blacks in the United States.Artemas wrote:As a quick aside...

I don't get the ribs, but Cool-aid is associated with "drinking the cool-aid" aka being indoctrinated.

Yes. Watermelons are stereotyped to be a black food, like fried chickens or collared greens, probably due to their origins as food eaten by poor whites and blacks in the US South. It's a racist meme that someone not in the US probably wouldn't notice, but it's basically the equivalent of saying "God Damn Fucking Niggers in the White House" in terms of visual imageryArtemas wrote:As a quick aside...

Kool-Aid and ribs are also stereotypically "black food", from what I've seen. Not quite as overt as watermelons or fried chicken, but it's the first association that came to my mind in this context.Samuel wrote:I don't get the ribs, but Cool-aid is associated with "drinking the cool-aid" aka being indoctrinated.

Didn't kool aid also get a bad rep from this cult that meted out poison mixed with kool aid? Hence the drinking of the kool aid snigger?Grandmaster Jogurt wrote:Kool-Aid and ribs are also stereotypically "black food", from what I've seen. It did indeed, so it could very well have a double meaning in the picture. But next to fried chicken and watermelon, it seems unlikely that it's not intended to be another item of "black food", at the least.PainRack wrote:Didn't kool aid also get a bad rep from this cult that meted out poison mixed with kool aid? Where are the boards resident conservatives to claim that left wing extremism and right wing extremism are both equally widespread and about the same level of nuttiness? I guess it's hard when you are confronted with the evidence.

The Peoples Temple cult, led by Jim Jones. But it was actually poisoned Flavor Aid, not Kool Aid. But it somehow got into people's heads that it was Kool Aid, and the line "drinking the Kool Aid" was born.PainRack wrote:Didn't kool aid also get a bad rep from this cult that meted out poison mixed with kool aid? "There are two novels that can change a bookish fourteen-year old's life: The Lord of the Rings and Atlas Shrugged. One is a childish fantasy that often engenders a lifelong obsession with its unbelievable heroes, leading to an emotionally stunted, socially crippled adulthood, unable to deal with the real world. The other, of course, involves orcs." - John Rogers
