Is it implied that watermelons are somehow in the realm of poor blacks or something?

Watermelons are associated with blacks in the United States.

I don't get the ribs, but Cool-aid is associated with "drinking the cool-aid" aka being indoctrinated.

Common black food stereotypes are: Chicken, Ribs, Watermelon, hot sauce, waffles (usually chicken AND waffles together), Kool Aid, seet potato pie, and most pork products. Putting such items on Obama "memes" is eluding to the ethnic stereotypes of black Americans.

Man, looking at these quotes, I can see how batshit insane these right-wingers are. I mean many of these things are almost outright treasonous. I really hate the way these right-wingers use faux-Patriotism just to forward their own selfish agenda instead of supporting their fellow countrymen and women by helping to alleviate their suffering. But to them, suffering of their own countrymen won't matter, because at the end of the day all they care about is their money.

I never got how this stuff is "black food" my family is made of mostly of racist some even active KKK members. Yet these so call black foods are stables of our diet...

It's because the foods generally date back to southern food, and also poor food in the south, eaten by blacks and poor whites. However, the poor whites generally didn't want to be seen as poor and thus pretended the food eaten by poor people were black only. That at least is how it probably started, considering the culture of the US South post-civil war and pre- was defined by lower-class whites denying they had anything in common with blacks.
