Al Pacino or Robert DeNiro... Who's better?

Post by Pistolero »

The Godfather
Dog Day Afternoon
Serpico
Scarface
Simone (OK, bubble gum movie, but has Pacino in it, therefore it is good)

And lastly,

THE RECRUIT - Everyone: To the movies... NOW! What a kick ass flick!

I rest my case, your honor.

You missed out the Devils Advocate. Have you ever saw a more convincing Satan, Also that about Carleto's Way? Basically Al has never been in a bad movie.

Amen my brother! Can I hear an Allellujah? I do have this conflict, though... who is better, Pacino or DeNiro? Or is pure blasphemy to just utter the thought? *Soaks self in flame-retardant foam*

You're comparing two actors with totally different styles. Pacino is all about intensity and power performance. Deniro is more subdued and quiet.

How can you like that stupid "Devil's Advocate" movie? Utter rubbish! Keaneu Reeves can barely say anything that contains over two syllables, let alone act.

Pacino is good, of course. I just thout it was a cornball movie.

I like DeNiro better. Especially in Ronan.

DeNiro is by far the better actor, he has more of a style to himself.

It simply comes down too Tony Montoya vs. Travis Bickle...

Quick lets get a shitload of "white stuff" & hold Jodi Foster hostage.

Pacino. Those eyes... How many other actors can relay such intensity through their eyes alone? He's amazing.

But that counts for most films & actors...do you think Christopher Walken or Robert Duvall would have done Han Solo as well as Harrison Ford?

Can't really say, from what I've seen they play very different roles in the films they are in.

De'nero tends to play the muscle in most gangster films and I don't really remember him playing any "brains/man behind the scenes" role.

AL on the ohter hand usually plays a role of the brains behind an operation, whether its in the Godfather of the Devil's Advocate.

I think they're both excellenct, but what your asking us to do is compare apples to oranges. Its like asking who is the better author, Aristotle or Steven King?
Devolution is quite as natural as evolution, and may be just as pleasing, or even a good deal more pleasing, to God. If the average man is made in God's image, then a man such as Beethoven or Aristotle is plainly superior to God, and so God may be jealous of him, and eager to see his superiority perish with his bodily frame.

Deniro, because I've seen more of his movies than Pacino.

I think this should really about preference of style instead of better. No two actors is really the same

I choose Deniro because I like his stuff and I never really seen Pacino much to really vouch for him.

I have almost reached the regrettable conclusion that the Negro's great stumbling block in his stride toward freedom is not the White Citizen's Counciler or the Ku Klux Klanner, but the white moderate, who is more devoted to "order" than to justice; who constantly says: "I agree with you in the goal you seek, but I cannot agree with your methods of direct action"; who paternalistically believes he can set the timetable for another man's freedom; who lives by a mythical concept of time and who constantly advises the Negro to wait for a "more convenient season."
