Wow. Ok, guys, the internet exploded over this more than a year ago. Infact I think that was one of the first screenshots released when DIII was announced forever ago.

Blizzard has many times over addressed the concerns of "WoW-ifying" Diablo. They've said that they are not making it kiddy, that they are starting in Act 1 and shit will get progressively darker from there.

What? Last I remembered the Tyranid Hive Mind had such a personality that psykers trying to read synapse creatures started frothing at the mouth after losing all pretenses of sanity, excluding the extremely high end tier Psykers.
Well, yes, but we dont SEE it. And its more of a "combination of all Tyranids, bundled in several creatures" than "one single overmind that controlls them".

I thought those psykers got fried because trying to read the Tyranid Hive Mind was like trying to touch a live power line to see if it is warm. Something can be very powerful, but still lack anything resembling higher level thought or personality.

Well, the hive mind is capable of ingenious planning and various other displays of intelligence - but yes, it mostly lacks personaltiy, unlike the SC-Overmind.

Btw, the whole "ripped of" or "stolen" accusations one way or the other are pretty stupid.
Sure, Protoss have some aspects from Eldar, and Zerg from Tyrandids. But Protoss have pretty different philosophy, and Tyrandids don't have a single overmind with such a personality.
And overall, the SC-story is pretty original.
Same goes for Warcraft.
The story of SC might be original, the setting of it though is clearly inspired by Warhammer40k. Of course that doesn't say much because much of Science fiction resembles each other in some shape or form anyway.

If you look hard enough, no story is truly original. It's like baking chocolate cake, the ingredients tend to be the same, but the arrangement and effort put into it is what makes it good.

the point comes is that there used to be a relationship with Blizzard and GW in fact former GW employee Andy Chambers is in charge of Starcraft.

There was never really a relationship between the two companies. Blizzard wanted to use the GW licenses, but GW were having none of it at the time, and although they thought hard about legal action decided it wouldn't work and didn't bother. Chambers went to work at Blizzard some time after after he left GW. (He had, in the mean time, worked on a Starship Troopers minis game for Mongoose Publishing. Nothing if not consistent :P)
