That's a BIG purple worm Belkar's summoned up....

(irony of the statement is diliberate)
I've been asked why I still follow a few of the people I know on Facebook with 'interesting political habits and view points'.

It's so when they comment on or approve of something, I know what pages to block/what not to vote for.

Pure unconverted spice kills anyone who's not Bene Gesserit or the Kwisatz Haderach, if I remember correctly.

nitpick....it kills the bene gesserit that are incapable of being Reverend Mothers. BG isn't a rank or specific status, but the name of the organization.

My mistake, I don't think I've read the books since highschool.

Exactly. Which is why Belkar MUST be the Kwisatz Haderach, since he is quite obviously not female :P

Going by the later novels, that's "a Kwizatz Haderach," not "the Kwisatz Haderach."

"Live Bait"

One is a childish fantasy that often engenders a lifelong obsession with its unbelievable heroes, leading to an emotionally stunted, socially crippled adulthood, unable to deal with the real world. The other, of course, involves orcs." - John Rogers

Reference to a reference...nicely done, even if Elan did screw up the quote a little.

Is it just me, or did Roy just imitate Michael Jordan's "tongue-out-while-jumping" shtick?

Anyone get the feeling the Belkar prophecy may be the self-fulfilling kinda rather than proper Dragon Oracle magic? I mean Roy's now showing little regard for Belkar's safety at all. So If he does bite it could be part of an easily avoidable and risky scheme the gang cook up.

Actually it's the "water of life" which does this. The Water of Life being spice essence placed in water to make a deadly poison.

Pure spice doesnt do anything except make you feel good. And turn you blue eyed.

Not quite. Jordan's was more of a tongue-down 'trying to lick the hoop' look.

Rooting for the Baron? That's a new low for Belkar. :P.
The worm joke was a bit juvenile, (and not very funny).

Thank you very much, you just helped my brain make the connection between the phrase "Flesh to Stone" and "Purple Worm". :banghead:

Like The Grim Squeaker said; it appears to be Dune he's reading. While rooting for the villain.

So that's why they keep him around. It's good to see him being useful, though he could still stand to put a few more points into Int...or would that be Wis? He's been shown to be good at quipping before, so presumably he's not THAT dumb, just easily distracted.
