The Peru-Bolivia Confederacy (henceforth renamed the Bolivarian Union) has an Air Focus of 5 and a 11 points towards Air Power, giving it an Air Power of 3+. It does not yet field the most cutting-edge fighters, but the air industry is currently in the process of transitioning to production of metal designs, bringing it to parity with the leading aircraft manufacturers.

It fields 794 combat aircraft, and almost 400 auxillaries.

Please note that all late-WWI or 1919-era fighters listed here are post-war production and were not used in any wars.

Army Locations

I have fortifications last upgraded in 1920 guarding my major ports. As part of the defensive plan, command detonated Naval Minefields are also at harbor entrances and good landing sites for enemy troops near said ports. There are also older fortification from around 1905-1910 guarding less important coastal sites (more on what exactly is guarded once I figure that out.)

UNIT DESCRIPTION
Revolutionary Guard
An elite formation devoted to defending the Revolutions against all enemies, within or without. The Revolutionary Guard is a heavily indoctrinated unit which prefers to recruit orphans or others who lack connections outside of the unit. This means that for most guardsmen the Guard is their home, their family, the only place where they have felt valued. As a consequence the Revolutionary Guard is extremely devoted, some would say fanatical, and will fight to the bitter end even under very trying circumstances. In terms of training and equipment they are fitted out like any full time front-line fighting force, with long service times and stringent, though politically influenced, recruitment criteria.

Ministério da Segurança do Estado (MSE) Special Purpose Brigades
The MSE's trouble-shooters, these units are not simply political thugs as some would have it, rather they are well trained and highly educated troops. That last part may seem strange, but the troops in the SPBs are also MSE agents, not just soldiers. The combination of high intelligence, good training, and lengthy experience makes them a premier counter-insurgency unit. They also act as a lifeguard unit for the Great Leader and certain other high government officials.

Marines (Corpo de Fuzileiros Navais)
The CFN is a fairly standard marine corps; that is light infantry capable of operating in an amphibious and riverine capacity. It's the latter capacity they have the most experience with, but they've actually performed amphibious operations during the revolution in the Congo. For the most part the Brazilian Marines act as a rapid response force in the north and in other sparsely populated areas.

Cavalry
These units tend to act as dragoons, that is to say they dismount before combat. In general they act as both a rapid response force and a large scale raiding force. Their training emphasises hit and run tactics as well as fighting retreats.

Cavalry Artillery Brigades
Horse mobile artillery, where some of the guns can be disassembled for transport. These are not the "flying" brigades of some countries, but rather an artillery unit that is capable of crossing very rugged terrain. Often used for interdiction missions.

Armoured Train Brigades & Railway Artillery Brigades
What it says on the can really. Both types of brigades are divided into three regiments, each of which is assigned to a single train. These units are normally stationed in Sao Paulo and Rio de Janeiro, areas which have an extensive railway grid.

Motorized Artillery Brigades
These experimental units were created to give additional speed and tactical mobility to normal artillery units. High Command sees them as a specialized rear-guard unit slowing down invading Argentina or Cisplatine forces. The idea is that they will be able to rapidly reach important passes and valleys, deploy, place the enemy under bombardment and then evacuate before the enemy can overrun them.

Artillery Brigades
These are fairly common horse-drawn artillery brigades.

Fortress Brigades
Infantry units specializing in holding fortified positions, most of them staff the many coastal forts of Brazil, but there are a few assigned to forts in the interior as well.

Infantry
Standard infantry, though their training tend to emphasise infiltration and Man Over Machine People's War! These tend to be mobilization only units, but the High Command is considering raising some as a permanent force.

FORTIFICATION TYPES

Level One Fortifications
The key phrase is Area Denial. The object of such a fortress is to prevent the enemy from gaining control over a single, confined area such as a port or a river mouth. Thus Level One fortifications are generally a single fort, possibly with a small number of pillboxes as support in case the fort itself has blind spots.

For costal forts Armaments generally consist of 12" or 13.5" guns, with more modern forts receiving new 15". Inland bases tend to use lower calibres and/or large mortars instead of naval guns. Additionally torpedo batteries are fairly common, though in less vital areas they tend to use older torpedoes no longer in active fleet operations. In a few cases they are also supplemented by remote controlled mines. If the fort is set to defend a port the docks and cranes are often rigged with explosives so they can be destroyed or damaged in case of enemy capture.

Note: Any port or river mouth which is not specifically mentioned elsewhere can be assumed to have a Level One Fortification.

Level Two Fortifications
The key phrase is Area Defence. The object of these fortifications, for they are rarely just as single fort anymore, is to defend a key point and its surroundings; such as a town, an island, or a small city. Generally coastal installations still include a single large fort, but they are invariably supplemented by pillboxes and bunkers, occasionally disguised as ordinary houses. Said fortifications are generally laid out so that the main fort will be the last to fall.

Armaments are similar to those of Level One fortifications, but the most up to date coastal forts are more likely to have 15" or even 16.5" guns. Additionally torpedo batteries tend to be of the modern type, and radio controlled mines are far more common.

Level Three Fortifications
The key phrase is Area and Access Defence. The object is no longer simply to prevent the enemy from taking control of a key point and its surroundings, but also to ensure that lines of transport remain open so that reinforcements can arrive. This requires a more spread out defensive system combined with a prepared transport infrastructure. Often these defences rely partially on prepared fortifications, concrete is cheap after all, and partially on mobile forces. As a rule a Level Three fortification is also a mustering point for mobilization.

Armaments are similar to those of the Level One and Two fortifications, even if larger (15"-16.5") calibres are the norm among coastal forts. Modern torpedo batteries are the norm, so are remote controlled mines where those would be convenient. At this point anti-air efforts tend to expand greatly and to be better co-ordinated as well.

Level Four Fortifications
The key phrase is Large Area and Access Defence. Simply put the object here is no longer simply to defend an area and the access routes to it, but rather to allow a large industrial area to maintain operations while under enemy attack. As in Level Three there's a combination of emphasis on prepared positions versus the flexible response of the garrison. However Level Four fortifications are generally backed by railways as well as roads, in addition to elaborate underground communications and command systems.

Armaments vary depending on need, but heavier calibres are invariably present in great numbers. So are torpedoes, remote controlled mines, and many other more cunning weapons systems. All Level Four fortifications have an extensive local anti-air defence system of the type that's starting to be deployed at strategic Level Three locations.

FORTIFIED AREAS
The Coastal Route Defence Area
This defence area stretches from the coast to roughly 80 miles inland and from the Cisplatine border to São Paulo. It is the quickest route to invade if you're advancing from the Cisplatine border towards São Paulo. Its main purpose is to blunt an enemy attack so that reinforcements may arrive, or by its sheer presence force the enemy to make an attack further to the west. All across the route there are plans to blow up tunnels and bridges, or trigger rock or mud slides to block important roads.

Note that this is not a Maginot style defence, nor does it rely on static fortifications. Though prepared positions exist the emphasis is on a flexible defence taking advantage of the terrain.

Reconnaissance Airships
Optimised for altitude and speed the reconnaissance airships can cover vast areas of ocean much faster than any alternatives. They are equipped with powerful radios for communications, as well as telescopes and cameras. There are even proper darkrooms aboard allowing for on the spot photo analysis.

Propaganda Airship
This airship is equipped with powerful voice radios capable of a surprising degree of frequency skipping and channel hijacking. Equipped with several powerful loudspeakers it can fly over the Amazonian rainforest and ensure that the natives there can rejoice in the words of the Great Leader. They can also do the same in other places where propagandizing is required. In addition it carries a disassembled cinema projector and projector screen, so that it can set up a cinema on the spot wherever it goes. Better yet if time is of the essence it has a powerful movie projector built into the ship, enabling it to stay several hundred feet up in the air while projecting a movie on any convenient surface.

Freight Airship
These behemoths carry their own landing pole so they can, if necessary, land just about anywhere. In their spacious cargo holds they can carry up to fifty tons of supplies, possibly more if the landing pole is detached.

After the House of Burgesses ordered a suspension of all naval capital ship construction, first of a new class of battlecruisers, the Enrico Dandalo was far enough along in construction that the GDN was able to persuade the release of funds for conversion to an aircraft carrier. Weighing in at 33,000 tons it can carry 60 aircraft comfortably...but rarely sails with an airgroup of more than 20 due to lack of planes!

Dreadnoughts
Galen Tyrol-class (Galen Tyrol, Thunderer)
These two vessels are the first Battleships to be laid down in 10 years, with construction starting on both ships in 1923. The ships are (roughly) analogous to the real-world Vittorio Veneto class, in that they displace 45,000 tons and have a 3 triple turret 15in arrangement. The decision to use the 15in caliber was based upon the costs savings, as the guns were developed and deployed on the previous Rollo the Walker class.

Rollo the Walker-class (Rollo the Walker, Ronaldus Magnus, Conrad of Alsace, Godfrey)
The last battleships commissioned within a decade, the 4 vessels are modeled on the real-world Caracciolo-class. At the time of their construction, they were world class and world-beating. Less so today.

Vanguard-class(Vanguard, Sternguard, Revenge, Reprisal)
Roughly analogous to the Andrea Doria class, except with a larger belt and wielding Ten 13.5in guns as the main battery. Due to lack of funds following the 1913-15, the GDN found themselves rebuilding existing ships. The Last of the 4 ships to exit rebuild was the Revenge, where she was converted into a oil-burning ship.

Beowulf-Class(Wiglaf, Nidhogg)
Modeled on the real-world Dante Alighieri, these battleships are nearly as obsolete as the pre-dreadnoughts that preceded them. Two members of the class were lost at the Battle of the Northern Arabian Sea. They have been extensively rebuilt, with their 305mm main battery changed into 320mm and converted into oil burning ships.

Each vessel has a main battery of 6x305mm in two triple turrets, but with an incredibly weak belt of 90mm. The three ships had a virtually all-welding constrcution as a weight saving measure. Their long cruising radius has made many speculated that they are intended to operate as surface raiders.

Third French Republic


General facts:
The modern Republic is the creation of the Simonist political party. After the Franco-Prussian War of the early 1870's, the French populace became disgusted with the way their "leaders" had been more concerned with their own egos than with actually prosecuting the war. Additionally, the French Socialist and Communist movements had been gaining more and more power with the rise of industry in France, and their demands for representation created the original Simonist Party. Named after the philosopher Saint-Simon, who coined the term "socialism," the party originally promised "Education for the Young, Medecine for the Old, and Bread for All," and continues to provide them to this day. However, once the Simonists absorbed the remnants of the Bonapartist movement, a note of distinct nationalism began to creep into their rhetoric.

The Republic is just that - A proper representative democracy. The Parliamentary Senate is elected by the people, as is the President, who holds various powers and duties to balance the power of the Senate and occasionally provide a needed impetus for decision. Although the nation is rather militaristic, French citizens enjoy equal protection of the law and minorities are very well integrated.

The German Empire

General facts:
The German Empire is the creation of Otto von Bismarck. After the succesfull war with France in 1870/71, the german states (with the exception of Austria) were consolidated into the German Empire. After the collapse of Austria-Hungary in 1915 and the war with Italy, Germany has expanded tremendously, taking over most of the former Austro-Hungarian holdings with the exception of the Balkans.

The German Empire is a constitutional monarchy. The power lies in the hands of the Reichskanzler, the Chancellor. He is appointed by his majesty the Kaiser and needs to have a parliamentary majority to conduct business. Despite being viewed as militaristic by its enemies, Germany is actually one of the most liberal states in Europe. Its citizens enjoy equal protection of the law and minorities are usually very well integrated (even having their own class of rewards for people not of the Christian faith). This however might be put to the test, as the Hungarians and Italians are incresingly more vocal minorities and there does exist a 1.5 million large segment of formerly Russian citizens, the former nobility of Russia and their supporters who fled the communists. This problem is compounded by the increasing chinese immigration to Germany and its colonies. Women gained suffrage in 1916 when the war effort required their mobilization for the economy.

The population of Germany and her assorted territories is 115 million, of which 5 million are situated in the colonies. 19,8 million Germans are in the available military age, of which a total of 7,92 million were trained in the arts of war.


Home Territory: 3
Germany's territory spans the former Austro-Hungarian Empire and Germany proper with the exception of the Balkans.

Colonial Territory: 1
Although Germany has a vast colonial empire, most of these are little more than naval bases or small islands. There do however exist three exceptions to this:
- Tsingtao is the crown jewel of Germany's empire and the major naval base for the German Far East Fleet. It is the main trade port to China. Trade routes ran from here via the Panama Canal to Germany proper and via the Suez canal to the mediterranean ports. Tsingtao is self-sufficient and a major fortress, guarded by no less than 60.000 active men and 180.000 reservists.
- Ghana is the second most valuable German possession. A self-sufficient colony, it boosts about 1 million inhabitants. It is a major exporter and trade route for african raw materials.
- The German part of Indonesia includes many valuable Islands and is the newest addition to the German colonial empire. Trade routes run from here via the Panama canal to Germany and to a lesser extent via the Suez canal into the Mediterranean.

Industry: 5
Germany is the most heavily-industrialized country in the world. The German industry is second to none, cementing Germany's position as major export nation.

Germany is a major export nation and possesses the second largest merchant marine (after the British). However, currently Germany's finances are mostly tied up in the reconstruction effort in Austria, Hungary and Italy. Thus, it cannot bring its full power to bear yet.

The German railway system is the pride of the nation and Germany is rightfully envied by other nations for it. It allows the state to shift countless numbers of troops within a few weeks. One can travel from Hamburg to Vienna via train in as little as 24 hours. Germany also has several major roads and several airlines, the biggest of them the recently founded Lufthansa.

Standing Military: 2
"Germany" and "military" have largely been inseperable throughout History. However, recently the government chose not to expand the army further to speed up reconstruction efforts.

Naval Focus: 2 (+3)
Though the army is the older, the Naval service is now considered as prestigous as the army. Germany prides itself on its excellent ship designs, which have been exported far more than any other designs. Currently, the Navy fields 27 Battleships and 9 Battlecruisers of various designs. Germany furthermore fields one aircraft carrier (the SMS Graf Zeppelin), 4 Heavy and 16 light cruisers. Supplementing this force are 38 submarines and 36 destroyers. 6 Bismarck designs are supposed to join the Navy in February 1926. The Navy will expand in the future. The Kiel canal, however, can not accomodate the newest designs, meaning that the German Navy will either have to take control of the Kattegatt or assure in other ways that it can safely travel through there.

The German army is one of the largest and best equipped force in continental Europe. 1.2 million form the standing army, supplemented by more than 4,7 million reservists. The total mobilization pool is almost 20 million. Learning from the lessons of the war of 1914-16, the German army has recently begun looking into new breakthrough tactics. First and foremost in that effort is a groop of experts in the Staff College centered around Colonel Guderian.

Each RDC encompasses a front of roughly 135km out of 550km of primary line stretching through four RDCs. The Northern line is made up of three lines with roughly 30km to 50km between them. The first line or “Defense Line Primary” sits roughly 50km back from the northern border providing a highly mapped and surveyed “no mans land” between it and the border in which advancing enemy forces can be easily targeted with precision artillery and machinegun fire. The “no mans land” has been broken into a grid pattern for precise timed over the horizon fire. The primary line is multilayered with the first layer sporting cement pillboxes and prepared sandbagged trench networks along the northern most edge armed mostly with 13mm HMGs, 7.62mm LMGs and various prepared mortar emplacements armed with 75mm, 81mm, 90mm and 170mm infantry mortars. The smallest of the lot often placed in pillboxes for use as anti-tank guns.

The second layer sports moderately armored bunkers clad in feet of steel plate and cement, mostly connected by cement and sandbag reinforced trenches interspersed with pillboxes. These trenches often sport camouflaged awnings and tarps to conceal their locations and provide shelter from the weather. They are armed in a fashion similar to the first layer. The second layer bunkers are armed with light artillery mostly 37mm/56cal anti-tank guns and 75mm/38cal guns in casemate mounts, small cement and steel turrets and revetments along the trenches. The bunkers also sport armored HMG mounts in cupolas and mortar emplacements.

The third and strongest layer is comprised of heavily armored bunkers guarded with steel plate and heavily rebarred cement. This third layer is designed to be gas resistant while former layers only sport gas resistant bunkers in the case of the second layer. All troops on the line are trained in resisting gas attacks and are equipped with gas masks and related equipment in general. These heavy bunkers are partially connected by “guarded” trenches similar to those used in the second layer interspersed with lighter pillboxes and mid-level bunkers. Besides the trench networks, the largest bunkers strategically positioned along the line are connected by underground tunnel networks opening some distance behind the third layer. The major bunker networks receive power from the main Uruguayan power grid through underground cables and sport backup diesel generators as well. Third layer bunkers are armed with 37mm/56cal anti-tank guns, 88mm/41cal and 105mm/45cal guns as well as various HMGs and mortars.

Behind the hardened third layer a forth layer of lighter trenches and pillboxes runs the length of the line. This layer is mostly reserved for support units and artillery positions. Normally this layer sports only 25% of its full compliment though prebuilt revetments and mounts sit ready for artillery to be brought up and quickly placed at the ready. This layer also sports four heavily reinforced cement and steel plate covered revetments designed to accept the standard 14in railway guns on special roll-in rotating mounts.

“Defense Line Primary” is always manned by two full divisions of defense line-specific infantry and artillery units and usually one Division of Infantry and their attached artillery quartered in barracks along the fourth layer.

“Defense Line Secondary” sits 50km back from “Defense Line Primary” and sports a similar layered system though the third layer is significantly less well defended then its Primary Line counterpart with large stretches of the third layer guarded only by mid-level bunkers and “guarded” trenches. However, the third layer is not devoid of heavy fortifications and several are positioned at key points along the line. The forth layer is prepared in a fashion similar to that of the Primary Line though only sports two revetments for railway guns and normally only 5% of it’s artillery with barracks capable of quartering three Divisions worth of infantry.

Normally, the Secondary Line is maintained only by a skeleton crew for upkeep and maintenance and receives its operational crews when the Readiness Condition is increased.

“Defense Line Tertiary” really dose not exist as one continuous line, instead it is a collection of smaller lines positioned at strategic points 40 to 50km or more behind the Secondary Line. These lines are three layered with standard first and second layers and a third layer for artillery and support personnel. Third Line segments also run along the northern edges of many northern Uruguayan towns and cities behind the main lines to defend them from an enemy advance that may breach the Primary and Secondary lines. Though the three layer make up is generally standard, several towns positioned in key valleys, on main roads and railways sport heavy bunkers and additional revetments for artillery.

Normally, these Third Line elements are maintained only by maintenance crews and are crewed only with called up reservists when hostilities are imminent.

All lines are well supplied by networks of well built roads and rail lines and most fortifications, specifically the forth layer artillery and support sections, sport AAA emplacements ranging from 20mm/60cal cannons to 40mm/60cal guns to heavy 105mm/45 cal guns.

- At Readiness Condition Green the lines are in their “Normal” Stage Zero Alert status and manned by two Fortress Divisions, one Infantry Division and their attached artillery on the Primary line with 25% of full mobile artillery in place along the forth layer. The Secondary and Tertiary lines are maintained only by skeleton maintenance and upkeep crews and sport only 5% of the full mobile artillery in the fourth layer on the Secondary Line.

- At Readiness Condition Yellow the lines are in their Stage One Alert status, guard and watch duties are increased, supplies are prepared and organized, the rail lines and roads are prepped for further mobilization and transportation and 25% more of the wartime mobile artillery is brought up to the Primarys forth layer. A further 5% is brought up to the Secondarys forth layer and prepped.

- At Readiness Condition Orange, the lines go to their Stage Two Alert status. A single Infantry Division is brought up with their attached artillery to the Primary Line, electrical systems are checked and backups prepared. Roads and rail lines are further prepared with schedules and timetables devised while several government trains are set aside for possible further mobilization. A single Reserve Army and the two+ reserve Fortress Divisions are prepped for rapid mobilization.

- At Readiness Condition Orange-Full, the lines go to a Stage Three Alert status. Two more Infantry Divisions are moved to the Primary line along with their attached artillery brining the Primary Line to full artillery capacity. The active armored train units are brought up to the line with their two 14in guns positioned in their revetments along the Primary Line’s forth layer. Two additional Reserve Armies and a Railway Division are prepped for rapid mobilization and Reserve Fortress Divisions are further prepped and called to prepare for immediate deployment to the Secondary Line at any time.

- At Readiness Condition Red, the lines go to a full Stage Four Alert status. At this point, invasion is deemed imminent and all lines are prepared to resist an attack. The Primary Line goes to full alert and switches to internal power, guns are prepared and artillery range guides and targeting maps are double checked. The Secondary Line is fully staffed and prepared with all Reserve Fortress units moved in, dug in and on internal power. Three Reserve Armies are activated and moved north to reinforce and man the Secondary and Tertiary Lines with their complete artillery compliments moved into place. Additional railway Divisions are moved to the border with their 14in guns moved up to the Primary and Secondary Lines’ forth layer revetments.

I have to concur with Steve and Sea Skimmer about the artillery brigades. I had attached an artillery brigade to every single active division because I did not know that some corps-level artillery was already included in divisions and thought they would be "naked." I will likely be halving the number of artillery brigades (mainly removing them from the jungle and cavalry divisions) and correspondingly increasing the number of infantry divisions.

Also, the Bolivarian Union's 134 reserve divisions will have to be reduced in proportion to the required number of support troops, and the number of reserve artillery brigades will also be reduced.

Cascadian Regular Forces


The Regulars consist primarily of the yearly draft callups and younger, less-experienced officers. They are trained to full standard for regular forces but are not considered to be as effective as the Guard Corps. Normally consisting of two-thirds or more of the standing army, cuts in the prior 8 years of Tory rule have resulted in the Regulars being a minority of Army forces. Numerous border forts in California and Nevada were shut down under Tory rule, with only the Ft. Jordan fortress across the Jordan River from Mormon-owned Salt Lake City kept active.

As of now the three regular divisions are assigned to I Corps as Southern Command, responsible for the southern frontier shared primarily with friendly Southern California; their presence is mostly intended to ensure the ability to protect the southern border in the event of political instability in the Grand Duchy. Additionally the Regular Army contains the Armored Testing Brigade, a formation intended for the testing of both tank doctrine and new models of tanks as the technology is refined year-by-year.

Cascadian Marine Corps


The Cascadian Marine Corps, like their British and American counterparts, began as a force of ship-board infantry for fighting boarding actions and small expeditionary engagements. They have since begun to field land-based forces, primarily for the protection of Cascadia's smallest outposts in the Pacific. In recent years the Corps, due to its shift to Pacific operations, has shifted its HQ to the semi-autonomous Kingdom of Hawaii.

The 1st Marine Brigade is also the Royal Hawaiian Marine Brigade by charter of the Hawaiian monarchy, in recognition for the Brigade's heroism in preventing the overthrow of the monarchy by American and European plantation owners in the 1890s. The Cascadian Department of the Navy has agreed to provide a company of Cascadian Marines from this Brigade for ceremonial functions as the King's lifeguard. This title is only used in ceremonial events of the Kingdom of Hawaii and is not an official unit designation on the CMC unit roll.

Cascadian Regular Forces


The Regulars consist primarily of the yearly draft callups and younger, less-experienced officers. They are trained to full standard for regular forces but are not considered to be as effective as the Guard Corps. Normally consisting of two-thirds or more of the standing army, cuts in the prior 8 years of Tory rule have resulted in the Regulars being a minority of Army forces. Numerous border forts in California and Nevada were shut down under Tory rule, with only the Ft. Jordan fortress across the Jordan River from Mormon-owned Salt Lake City kept active.

As of now the three regular divisions are assigned to I Corps as Southern Command, responsible for the southern frontier shared primarily with friendly Southern California; their presence is mostly intended to ensure the ability to protect the southern border in the event of political instability in the Grand Duchy. Additionally the Regular Army contains the Armored Testing Brigade, a formation intended for the testing of both tank doctrine and new models of tanks as the technology is refined year-by-year.

Cascadian Marine Corps


The Cascadian Marine Corps, like their British and American counterparts, began as a force of ship-board infantry for fighting boarding actions and small expeditionary engagements. They have since begun to field land-based forces, primarily for the protection of Cascadia's smallest outposts in the Pacific. In recent years the Corps, due to its shift to Pacific operations, has shifted its HQ to the semi-autonomous Kingdom of Hawaii.

The 1st Marine Brigade is also the Royal Hawaiian Marine Brigade by charter of the Hawaiian monarchy, in recognition for the Brigade's heroism in preventing the overthrow of the monarchy by American and European plantation owners in the 1890s. This title is only used in ceremonial events of the Kingdom of Hawaii and is not an official unit designation on the CMC unit roll.

Army Reserve


The Army reserve consists of both volunteers and draftees. Draftees in the Reserves are primarily those who complete Universal Military Training and are either not selected for active service or are exempted from it for various reasons as well as those who complete their service in the regular army and are retained in the reserve, usually for 4-8 years. Since 1916 the Reserve has been steadily reduced by the Conservative Party, seeking to save funds from the national budget to keep taxes low and fulfill social service initiatives. As a result, it is about a third lower than it should be.

Reservists generally train one to two months out of the year, meeting at least every weekend a month for rifle training with month-long retention training held once a year, rotating by reservist formation in a region.

Most of the Reserve comes from the mainland of North America, primarily in the full states while the Territories have Territorial Militia units that are usually no larger than a regiment or two due to the lower population - mobilization of territorial militia generally only happens when said territories are directly threatened, as mobilization in these territories can cause severe economic depression.

Note that roughly every seven Reserve Divisions have a Reserve Artillery Brigade attached.
