I'm seeing an inconsistancy in the load times. Don't know if this is because of the testing or not. Ranges from quick (2-3 seconds to post) to very slow (30 seconds or more)

I know others have commented on the threads not being marked as read. I tried to mark everything in a thread as being read, and that doesn't work either.

The board has dropped more than 4000 posts already, so I'd say there's been some heavy abuse of powerDefiant wrote:I'm seeing an inconsistancy in the load times. Don't know if this is because of the testing or not. Ranges from quick (2-3 seconds to post) to very slow (30 seconds or more)
I'm going to try doing an SQL dump at some point to see how it responds.

Tried it, I've logged out clear both cookies and browser and then logged into here and there, logged out of both and when i log in, this forum works fine, the new one hasn't a clue who I am. I do find it amusing though to see that when I do go there and am waiting to log in it still shows my Username as logged in and browsing(I'm guessing it's refusing to clear us as logging out or something, until we manually force it to accept us as logging back in.).Darth Wong wrote: PS. Rob, you were online when I fixed the cookie config. Maybe if you drop out, clear your browser cache and cookies, and log in again, things will start working properly.

Rob, try logging in with your username and password, then logging out by clicking on the "login/logout" button at the upper right corner of the screen. This should clear you out of the "logged in" list.
Then, go back and log in with your username/password and check the auto-login box. See if that does the trick.

Already tried it a few times, BTW I was on the board for about 2 minutes just now, doing some clearing up that seemed neccesary, but the posts reporting me as there predate that. I'll try again though.Darth Wong wrote:Rob, try logging in with your username and password, then logging out by clicking on the "login/logout" button at the upper right corner of the screen. It's still showing the Rob Wilson username as browsing when I turn up as a guest, no matter what i do. I'll turn off the computer after doing another purge of the Caches and see if that works. And It still doesn't show items as read in Millenium falcon.Rob Wilson wrote: Already tried it a few times, BTW I was on the board for about 2 minutes just now, doing some clearing up that seemed neccesary, but the posts reporting me as there predate that. Is anyone else having problems with automatic log-in, because if it's just me I'll keep beavering away at my end until I find something that works tomorrow. I'm hitting the sack for now, so if you still see me logged n over there you know it's not really me but my ghost *woooooooooooo*

Argh. It's the same software, just a different host! Maybe there's something different about their settings.

I just worked out that they are not placing a cookie on my Computer. Because i was linking from here, I never noticed there wasn't a new one going on, but once i gave the new board it's own link in Favourites I noticed no new cookie placed on my system. That's why it can't remember me I'm betting, and also why it's not marking stuff read after each visit.Darth Wong wrote:Argh. It's the same software, just a different host! Also after destruct testing all the Mod/Search/sort functions they all work with no real problems (only a small lag).
I should note that as an anti-ad measure I have my browser set to not accept third party cookies (which shouldn't affect this as they are first party, but I thought you'd need all details to help fix this). And with that, I go to bed.
