I'm entering a difficult period of a class I'm going through, and finding it difficult to devote the necessary time to this little war of Stas's. So it may be a short while before I can get a response post up.

No worry, man. I am positively sure that I can take some time and wait. Besides, the advance is going to be fairly slow with heavy fighting, like 40-50 km a week, no more. Divisions cannot do and cover more only without resistance (70 km per 2 days is the march speed through own territory of a WWI Russian rifle division).

Just to clarify the following is the order in which folks have expressed interest in the project:

- Tuscany
- Manchuria
- Byzantium
- Germany
- Cascadia
- Afghanistan
- Sudan
- Portugal
- United States

Now I'm gonna have to knock Manchuria off (all things aside I doubt somebody in their offices is gonna have time to devote resources to this kind of a project with a war kicking off)
I'm also going to knock off:
Sudan: Shipping interests are more likely to be hurt than helped as it would make the US, Mexico, and Brazil more competitive in the Asian market
Afghanistan: No real merchant shipping interests to benefit, this just wouldn't make sense

I'm also iffy on Tuscany for the same reasons as Sudan but Raesene was the first to contact me once I started posting IG so I'm also loathe to short Tuscany out...anyway with them in and a max buy of 10 shares (20 IBP) I'm expecting that I won't be able to fulfill demand, in other words don't expect to be able to buy a share at this point. Once I have hard commitments from the first 5 on the list (since they all can buy in even if they all buy max) I'll contact everyone else in descending order with the numbers of shares still remaining.

Total aside but I just realized that there is likely as not a very viable secondary market in these shares. Since an owner can "sell" them so long as the project keeps getting its IBPs I just created the first SDNWorld bubble economy :D

What Asian market? ;) Given the circumstances I think my decision to mostly stay out of the Asian market seems more and more justified. For that matter I doubt East Asia is all that interested in coffee, sugar, and cocoa. Beside if I want to go from Santos to China I'm better off going around the cape (11 800 nautical miles) than through Nicaragua (14 000 miles).

So you're all sold out of shares then?

Is it too late to join? I know I dropped off from the last one, but as others have stated, a peacful content thriving world, is just, well, boring... THIS however reminds me of the ancient attempted "Steam and Steel" STGOD in which I was one of the few active posters before it died... Personally I would LOVE a turn of the century style game agin and, if its not already claimed, Would Deeply wish to take the whole island of "Borneo" as my own.

Shep; Colombia does most of its trading across the Atlantic, and the rest across the Pacific. I somehow doubt that your little temper tantrum in the Indian Ocean is going to affect us. And when we do finally notice that this is what you're up to, don't expect us to let you use our canal. :P

You can have Switzerland, and that's about all, I think. We can form the 'Useless Tiny Bastards' alliance!

vv
Maybe later, after the Manchurian War and the increased closeness it'll bring between Afghanistan and the USSR. For now, I like just having a dinky 1,000 tonne vessel to kick about with.

Afghanistan is hardly useless. Besides, you have a border with the Tarim sea, right, loomer? Want me build you some inner sea warships, my yards are somewhat under-deployed?

Stas, Peru-Bolivia could use some warships, of the heavy coastal-defense variety.

Sorry, Borneo's split between Thanas (Germany) and Shinn (Southeast Asian Union).

But Norade's right, Quebec is still open and Canada - what's left of it - is too. Though you could combine the two I imagine.

Canada? Bah, I'd have to rewrite my whole back story.. and the maps.. I'd worked so hard on those maps for Steel and Steal! Not to mention I have a fondness for island nations... Hmm, I wonder what the chances are of a "buying out" the place from Thanas and Shinn

I'd like to point out that Brazil has spare slipways in the 25K-40K range.

Not very bloody likely I imagine.

My forts are up, their all sea defending forts as most areas don't too much fear a land going attack. Their weapons are taken from the Portugal-class Dreadnoughs that were scrapped or from guns and turrets built as replacements. Let me know if they're too much.

I'm still interested in investing. The canal is of important to my because I get another shortened route to my Oceanian territories without ships having to cross the Madmen's Sea or having them pass the next possible hotspot of South America ;-)

I could be interested to, if somehow there are any shares left, mainly to have a finger in the pie ;) But South America is really quite safe, if only those crazy Chilatines would calm the heck down.

I'm assuming companies from abroad can show their products here as well, so I went ahead and introduced a bunch of my own stuff. If not, then just pretend that my aircraft were flown at a show in Alexandria a month or so later.
