Uh... Once again, what time is it in game? I mean, I'll have to keep track of what's happening. I'll back-write battle of Hailar and such, but I need to keep track of time.

I'll revise my earlier request - anyone who wants their nation to have a significant influence in Afghanistan's history, now is the time to make the bid, since I'm finally writing it all out.

I would naturally have influence, with trade and investment going both ways at the border, along with I hope, a railway line or two.loomer wrote:I'll revise my earlier request - anyone who wants their nation to have a significant influence in Afghanistan's history, now is the time to make the bid, since I'm finally writing it all out.

Well Peru has a mountainous border with me and both Peru and Columbia still have small navies. Crossroad, it is the opinion of the mod staff that actually calling your country "Crossroadia" is at odds with the character of this game. I have no objection, however, if you were to state that while the political name of the nation is the Consortium of Borneo or some such, the Consortium's "private branch", so to speak, could be called the Crossroads Corporation or some such.

So as stated in the game thread if I've PM'd you with a treaty/diplomatic offer I'm considering that roughly 3 months or so have now passed and we should be moving in to the ratification phase.

A quick note to avoid potential confusion: when I say "Sudanese terrorists" I mean from the Sultanate's portions of Sudan, where a low-level insurgency has been going on ever since we conquered the region. I'm not about to invade the territories of other players... yet .

It's Morales who should bear soime blame too, the decision to sortie the entire Chiletinian Navy like that and send the entire thing off the Brazilian coast was not a wise choice and the Brazilian riposte was brilliant.

Well, you probably have a history of occasional conflict with Shepistan too. Though most of their history revolves around the death struggles with the Grand Dominion.

All major ship classes are now up, I still need to do Subs but most likely I'm just going to nab historic export designs and use those. Army still needs to finish getting fleshed out but all the Armies are there if the Corps, Division, and Brigade assets are not yet.

Is it possible to get a list of who's communist and who's not? It's tad confusing and hard to keep track.

Re: SDN World 3 Commentary Thread I
I'm a Fascist state with a tradition of strong welfare and workers rights coupled with a capitalist drive. Most stores and factories are state owned and leased to companies, those companies that do the best obviously lease the most factories and may own a few outright. In some cases the government runs 'make work' factories that produce simple goods such as wooden toys and such simply to keep people being paid and productive.
School requires more work than I remember it taking...

Afghanistan: Not communist. I know the name is confusing.
Regarding the new rifle, the plan is for it to be adequate up to 450m and have a maximum (well, maximum under test conditions) range of 2,230m in the first batch of infantry rifles, thanks to some poor rifling. It'll be a 7.7x54mm bolt action that takes 6 round en bloc clips to feed a twelve-round internal magazine. Weight should be nine pounds for the standard infantry.
Cavalry version'll be half a foot shorter, weigh a pound less, and be of course, less accurate and shorter ranged.

Re: SDN World 3 Commentary Thread I
Pfah. Cisplatina has a considerably stronger army than either Chile/Argentina or Brazil. Since you kids are already hostile to each other and you can't individually threaten Cisplatina...Raj Ahten wrote:Well Peru has a mountainous border with me and both Peru and Columbia still have small navies. I imagine my planners have nightmares about Cisplatina falling to a communist coup or some nonsense and then "The millions strong hoards of Brazil being free to march to Beunos Aires, while their navy blockades our coast!"Norseman wrote:Brazil is a great threat?! And the communists are a legal party represented in parliament like the fascist-like Accion des Patriotes on the other end of the spectrum. Their problem for both sides is that it is exceedingly unlikely for either to get to power. The republic has been a bastion of European radical liberals since her creation. By 1925 land reform lies some three generations in the past and Bismarkian style social welfare some 4 decades ago. And for extralegal means it has a very French attitude on internal security...
Of course this also means that Cisplatina was the bogeyman of Latin American conservatives for decades before Brazil went communist if for no other reason because it was the only country in South America to have comprehensively broken the power of the big landowners.

If nothing else, it provides a distinct feel for Afghanistan and also gives me an existing, established weapons manufacturing industry with which to start making advances into automatics and more advanced firearms.
Also, it has an impact on logistics, since enemy forces can't hijack ammo dumps for their own usage now, unless they can capture enough Mk.1s to outfit their forces in region.

Yeah but if you want to go that route (towards semi-auto) you could just purchase the Mondragon Modelo 1908 which now fully equips the Mexican Army with a n 8 round semi-automatic and 20 round fully automatic 7mm rifle. Nice to be at the front of that curveloomer wrote:If nothing else, it provides a distinct feel for Afghanistan and also gives me an existing, established weapons manufacturing industry with which to start making advances into automatics and more advanced firearms.
