I should also note I brought this up on page 2... Somehow it was overlooked. Imagine that.

The clones in AOTC took 10 years to reach maturity. The clones in Thrawn's books took weeks to reach maturity. The reason you can't make a clone in under a year is because the Force drives them mad. These things are grown without the Force acting on them.. Which results in odd readings for Jedi. Normal clones are grown over a much longer period, thus the Force isn't driving them batty, and they don't grow in a Force 'void'.

Indeed you did, however I don't think you made the connection between them you just said: "Kamino cloning=slow. Spaarti cloning=fast." And it didn't get through. Your second post said: "Kamino=slow. Spaarti=fast. After ROTJ Empire needs clones fast."

We dimwits here at SD.NET need things layed out nice and easy for us, so you need to drop the super-smart ASVS things you learned way back then

You're the one who is saying we should disregard the Zahn triology instead of making them both fit, we don't see why you are so resistant to that idea.
I've just had a theory wich makes both statements fit, is that good enough for you?

WAIT A MINUTE!! Are you telling me that you thought I said that the Thrawn trilogy was wrong?

I just realized we've been yelling at each other and I haven't been listening. My point was that I believe that Stormtroopers are clones because GL says so and it fits the evidence at hand. I've been debating people on this thread who DO NOT believe that stormies are clones and they are actually recruits.

I apologize HDS if that is not the case and you too believe as I do that Stormies are clones. When I argue against the EU's interpretation its about those novels that have portrayed Stormies as normal folk recruited form their worlds NOT Thrawn's Spaarti cylinders.

That's really the only solution that makes sense.

If Stormtroopers are clones, they can't all be cloned from the same DNA (i.e. Jango). Otherwise, when Luke was walking around it would have been grossly obvious to anyone that he wasn't for real. Plus, in AOTC, all Clonetroopers were clones, from the officers down to the lowliest grunt, but in SW the officers were not clones (at least not clones of the same guy). Stormtrooper are not a direct decended of Clonetroopers; something happened in the years between AOTC and ANH to change them. Because of this, anything said about Clonetroopers is irrelevent when discussing Stormtroopers. They need to be judged by the evidence at hand.

The biggest bit on the not-clone side is the name "Clone Wars". It would be silly to refer to the wars shown in AOTC as "clone wars" if clones continued unchanged up until ANH. It would be like calling WWII the "Tank Wars".

Finally, GL's original intentions are meaningless when dealing with the movies. For example, Jabba originally was hairy. Does that mean he's still hairy despite ROTJ showing him as a slug? Besides, GL didn't make the movies by himself, he just owns them.
