Your fault for not sticking to your end of various deals, my German friend.

You don't get far in this game by betraying people so quickly.

Love, France!

Confusing and interesting moves alike all around in FALL 1903, now posted. Your new deadline is monday for retreats (Russia and Austria), tuesday for builds (Russia and Austria need to remove if they don't disband their retreating units, France and Turkey have builds)

Good to see that the tide is turning in the Balkans.

Quite right. it took me a moment to figure out just how the French and British forces interacted. Talk about a chain reaction of failures.

Support Centers January 1904
  • 3 Russia (4,5,4)
  • 4 Austria-Hungary (3,4,5)
  • 5 France (3,5,4)
  • 5 Ottoman (3,4,4)
  • 5 England (3,4,5)
  • 5 Italy (3,4,5)
  • 7 Germany (3,5,7)
Very static SC wise, but the board changed dramatically.

Rare is the year where something doesn't happen, really. Twould be a boringish game if it devolved into stalemates that easily.

My laptop appears to run hot enough that it melts the conductive metal used in the plugs, and needs replacement cords twice a year. It's about that time again. I'm bending it back in place where possible, since the metal 'droops' due to melting, but it does not look like it will survive much longer. I have ordered a new cord. There may be some slight delays if the cord melts enough to be unusable and un-fixable between now and christmas.

Further, no deadline will fall on Dec 24-26- turns will be artificially lengthened if necessary, as I view a christmas deadline as very likely to produce NMRs.

True, but usually there are more changes of SC ranking this early in the game.

As well as New Years eve & recovering from it? Maybe you should explain the abbreviation?

NMR - No Move Returned. She's trying to avoid a season of everyone but one or two people cleaning up due to all the hold by defaults that go on.

Yeah, probably not new years day and hangover day as well.

An NMR is a no move received, and can describe a single unit (such as Turkish A Ankara for the past year) or an entire power (such as Russia and Italy in 1902, and Britain in 1901). For NMRd units, it's like a hold, in terms of effect, but as was seen for Russian F Rumania, you auto-disband if dislodged. (Apparant logic behind this: Since retreat phases are subphases inside of spring or fall, not returning orders for spring or fall renders you incapable of retreating as well).

Duckie just gave me a call, and her power cord finally went out. She'll be trying to get a new one, or fix her current one, but until then obviously things aren't getting posted. Sorry for the inconvenience!

The cord has not completely melted and at certain angles and applications of gravity it appears to maintain a charge. The game will procede as planned until it completely fails.

I am going away on a holiday tomorrow. In the event internet access is not possible come the next move order phase, I authorize Relvenous and Jogurt to determine, in conjunction, my movements.

I can now confirm that I will not have the internet for the next three days, but I should be back in time for retreats, and if not, the above are also authorized to act in this capacity.

If I where Austria I would protest this. It gives an unfair advantage "knowing" what another player will do.

Here is a suggestion that goes along with both loomer's wishes and with the intention of the game:
Relvenous and Jogurt each send in an order for Turkey's units with their own move orders. If they match that is what Turkey does. If they do not match those units "Hold".

But of course if Austria is OK with loomer's suggestion then I am OK with it as well.

It is now irrelevant. If I could edit my post, I would do so, as I have now sent Duckie provisional orders for any possible retreats and moves for the entirety of 1904, for use if I am unavailable.

Apologies for the late post, it's getting increasingly difficult to make this computer's cord work. A replacement will be arriving soon.

Turn posted. Lots of expansion and contraction this turn.

Austria is open for new registrations, but I doubt anyone will take it.

Gentlemen - France's fall is now only a matter of time. The armies of the Kaiser and the Mad King are eager for the blood of good Frenchmen. I shall stay in the nation I have failed while our men hold off the hordes for as long as they can.

It has been an honour.
