Who designed the Sovereign?

We know Leah Brahms was one of the primary engineers on the Galaxy class, butr who is behgind the Sovie? Was it ever stated in any publication?

My personel pet theory is that Scotty is the one behind the Defiant, Sovereign, and Akira, hence why they are ships that can actually throw down, but that's largely because Scotty is my favorite character and I want it to be so rather then my having any evidence.

I think that the non-canon book Ship of The Line actually did place Scotty as one of the designers. Neat, huh?

I think you are right. By the way Sisko was a part of the team that made the Defiant, that is how he knew to go and get it when the Dominion trouble started heating up.

Well, he was supposed to travel around a bit and then head to a retirement colony when he felt it was time.
