I haven't read the comics in a long time, but I guess it means something important.
Not really. Tony is always tinkering with his Armour, improving it and building specialized suits.
Sight, well I guess I didn't phrase it correctly, my bad. I meant as in him getting a whole new arc reactor put into himself, which at least to me is a slightly bigger change than simply putting on a new suit.
I.e. in the middle of the trailer we see Stark with his shirt open, showing silvery "veins" radiating out from his arc reactor, slightly resembling computer circuitry.
And in the first movie it was clearly shown that the navigation GUI of his suit was located in a heads up display in his helmet, yet here we see him diving out from a plane helmet less yet still able to effortlessly catch up to and retrieve his falling helmet in midair.
In the only recent comics I read WWH, Stark was doing stuff like levitating the individual parts of the suit to, remote controlling it, and directly interfacing with a lot of tech, etc, because apparently he was no longer just a regular guy with a suit, but an actual cyborg, so I guess that's the road they are heading down with the movies as well.
