Is that really much different than minimizing windows, especially with tab grouping in XP/Vista and the single-application-icon in W7?

There is a really useful desktop organizer out there by the name of Fences. I recommend it to anyone who has a lot of desktop icons to deal with.

I would definately go with 7-Zip its really light and easy on resources and simple to use and also I would get rid of AVG, it misses so many viruses. Instead get Avira, its a really great free anti virus and coupled along with malwarebytes you should be golden!

You can download it and use it as long as you're using a genuine copy of Windows. Why pay $50 to $80 each year for an anti virus program, when you can get the definitions and a decent program free from Microsoft?

Sure, it may not be as good in catching viruses as NOD32, or what; but fuck, you don't need professional grade antivirus programs unless you're deliberately going to the bad corner of the internet.

Windows Firewall combined with whatever you have for router hardware firewall (you DO have a router? Most people do nowadays), should be enough to stop 99% of all intrusion attempts.

For those of us who do browse the 'bad corner', nothing less than NOD32 will do. :P
That said, for my clients who don't have kids who insist on running torrent software, MSE or other freeware AV apps are acceptable.

For my clients who have kids that run torrents and don't have either the heart or the knowledge to crack the whip on the little bastards, I recommend buying NOD32.
