This is done because otherwise the messages boards would become far too slow. GameFAQs already crashes and lags considerably because of too much activity.

The whole board system is totally screw up and isn't set up well at all. You need to manually type all your html codes and other crap like that. Needless to say, most of the regulars there are idiots as well.:x

This is only one board at GameFAQs. There are thousands of them, I think.

This is too stupid for sarcasm. I wish I had a time machine to send him back to explain to the Visigoths how they don't need their swords, shields, or helmets--just Bowie knives with small electric motors to make them vibrate at the proper frequency to bypass Roman shields. We'll see who wins the Battle of Adrianople THIS time around.

I just put in a couple more rebuttals. Enjoy. I'm going to go hunting through the canon database and dig up some Trek speed estimates.

Servo, you think that we should go through and preserve some of their stupider statements just to mock them later? I think it would be funny to show the world what these cretins will resort to if it helps ST win.

Ossus or Servo, point out to that fucking moron 3 things:

1) If they can visably see it, without aid of a viewscreen because the viewscreen was blasted away, his claim of it being a SFX thing due to the screen holds no water. The fucking screen was blasted away. No screen, no FX size discrepency.

2) To go from Saturn to Earth in the time stated in BOBW worlds requires FTL travel unless you are Timothy Jones who believes that Saturn is only 7 LM from the sun.

3) Ships also require even mass balance, hence the trim tanks to keep it even.

Jesus he's stupid.

You mean archive them at this board? Or give them to DW to put on the wall of shame? Yes, they should be preserved as a witness to the stupidity of rabid Trekkies in some form or another. You want to take care of it or shall I? I don't have as many priviledges on this board as you do, unless DW decides to make me a mod (doubtful).

Archive them to this board. Just use the standard quote format to take their quotes from their site, and post some of the stupidest arguments over here. Have fun!

Guys, I'm going on vacation from now till Sunday. Can someone else finish off this dumbass, or at least hold him off until I get back, please?

Incidentally, be sure to mock his interpretation of events in "Nemesis," and his belief that gravity=space time.

It isn't their site. These are just random posters at the Star Trek board (which is quite small). The only one of them who anyone might recognive somewhere else might be Angelblade because he is on the High Karma User list.

I will also say that Darth Servo commited the offense of a cesnor bypass by posting "Bullshit" with some characters replaced. Angelblade also did this by quoting him. Both of you recieved a notification which results in a loss of 3 karma.

Last, I will state the priveleges of karma for those who don't know. I made this list.

Karma Privileges

20 karma: "New User (2)" level, ability to mark for moderation, ability to use meta-moderation
40 karma: "New User (3)" level, ability to view posting history
75 karma: "Regular User" level, no posting restrictions, ability to use topic search, access to the social board "Long-timers", access to the social board "Life, the Universe, and Everything"
150 karma: "Veteran" level, access to the social board "Veterans"
350 karma: "Legend" level, access to the social board "Legends"
400 karma: ability to apply to be a moderator during selection periods
700 karma: "Elite" level, access to the social board "The Elite"
1000 karma: "Icon" level
1500 karma: "Idol" level

I am currently at 865 karma, with the level "Elite," on the account "gjdsj," as of today.

I'm on it. I'm currently going through the 50 pages of the original debate. There's some real gems in there early on from other idiots but I'll focus mostly on Angelblade, SSG 1000 and Tannhauser.

It is better to use 50 posts per page. That gives only 10 pages.

They penalize you for using a naughty word? How juvenile.

PS. I love the way actual juveniles believe maturity comes from fake dignity and accuse people of being "immature" for swearing; you can always tell someone is either a precocious teenager or an anal-retentive asshole when they come at you with a lot of attitude because you used a naughty word. I always get a kick out of asking them to explain what's wrong with swearing without appealing to popularity or customs.
For a time, I considered sparing your wretched little planet Cybertron.
But now, you shall witnesss ... its dismemberment!

Damn. I'm to page 33 of the debate and I already have 15 pages on the word file archive.

DW, Angelblade and SSG 1000 were practically BEGGING for the Imperial smackdown (tm) throughout that debate.

Oops. My last post looks like I was saying DW was begging for the smack down (tm). I trust folks are intelligent enough to know what I meant. On the other board, they would undoubtably use that little poorly typed phrase to get my whole argument thrown out.

I think this is done because the advertisers prefer that no foul language is used. It is acceptable to replace the banned word with asterisks, or use only the first letter. For "Bullshit" common substitutes would be "Bull****," and "BS." This the rule listed in the Terms of Service.

Censor Bypassing
The GameFAQs message boards are programmed with a list of words that are considered vulgar under any context, and these words are not allowed to be posted. Attempting to bypass the censor by misspelling, inserting spaces or symbols, transposing letters, using look-alike symbols, or any other method is not allowed. The only acceptable method of posting one of these vulgar words is to completely obscure it, making it impossible to determine what the word is without context. Additionally, certain words are prohibited from being used in topic titles and user information pages; bypassing the censor to post those words where they are restricted is also disallowed.
For example, if "gris" is a banned word:
•Not allowed: g-r-i-s, gr*s, g***, 9|-1$, girs, gryeeeas, grizznizz, **** (rhymes with "bris")
•Allowed: ****, ****ed, ****ing, g'ed, g-word

Heh, I love this shit. MOO says prove they were moving at relativistic speeds. All he does is say "Full impulse".

Well, he's resorted to increasingly non-sensical arguments. He's down to arguing that the E-E was moving at "full-impulse," and therefore whatever the FX show is irrelevent. He's also ignored my demands that he explain how Picard could see the Scimitar through the hole in the viewscreen, AND how Skippy could have reacted to a ship moving that quickly if it was clearly visible.

They're RSA clones. They just repeat their original argument as nauseum no matter how many times its shot down or how many different ways you prove you're full of shit.

Angelblade's definitive work was about how the DS was that it couldn't possibly have generated 2E32 joules to destroy Alderaan because they wouldn't be able to radiate the waste heat out into space before it killed everyone on board. It doesn't even cross his/her mind that the DS probably uses acitive systems to pump the waste heat out and the reactor is probably shielded from the rest of the battlestation somehow.

If the E-E was moving at relativistic speeds it wouldn't matter how slow-mo it was show in, it would still be moving too fast for you to see. He might as well just concede the argument for it being slowed down for dramatic effect, as even if it was it wouldn't help his argument for his magical impulse drive of multi-petaton rammingness.

Angelblade is pathetic. From the beginning, all of his arguments have been based on dismissing canon and official sources, as well as suspension of disbelief and a proper application of science when analyzing scifi universes. Sorry I haven't been able to contribute much over the last few days, since the debate has shifted over to ST: Nemesis (which I haven't seen yet), and besides you guys already say all that's needed to be said. However, anybody can see the circular reasoning behind his argument that the E-E was moving really fast just because of what Picard said, regardless of whether they've seen the film or not.

Okay, I responded to his ad hominem by using an ad hominem attack. Let's see how long it takes him to look up the term "ad hominem" in Google, so he can properly refute my statement rather than claiming I'm trying to confuse him with such "big words." I would guess three to five more volleys.
